Trainwrecking CD

I was listening to a couple of my favorite dj's the other day and heard a trainwreck in both sets.

One being a Paul van Dyk Live Set and one being an Andy C live set.

It brings me back to reality and makes me remember that they arnt so damn unstopable.

I think im going to make a whole cd of nothing but famous dj's and their trackwrecks

he is still human you know

Yeah, its damn near impossible to never mess up. Thats like a basketball player never missing a shot. Or a pitcher never throwing a ball. It just isnt gonna happen.

sure. that's why i want to hear it. even if he did trainwreck, i haven't heard anyone do double drops so accurately. the man is a machine.

Agreed. I thought it was funny. Andy C is sicker than any dj I know. He does do the best double drops and his cueing is like autocue. Its crazy

its on :

01-andy_c_and_bailey-live_at_accelerated_culture_vs_one_nation-uf.mp3

I can pretty much tell that nothing happened like a bump to the table or anything, it just starts to trail off and sound shitty. you will notice, just listen to the set!

That would be the end of the world...

On another note, I noticed a trainwreck on PvD's Mixmag mix, "Return of God". It's either from track 4-5 or 5-6. Kinda bad for being a released CD and all

Still <3 him though.

Er... Don't you mean "A pitcher always throwing a strike."?

paul van dyk's set in "live in vancouver" has pretty lame mixing. I dont know how old the set is, but im guessing pre 2000ish. Some of the transitions are quite amaturish, but the tunes are not bad.

you cant really compare mixing to sports. There can be a lot of different reasons for a mix to be off, including speaker delay if the dj is mixing with one can and no split cue.

Basically the same thing...

There's a really bad trainwreck in a 99 GC set from PvD. Also the Radio 1 Dance Party when he was pissed out of his face he crashed a few trains to.

Pick any set from Tiesto in the last couple of years and your bound to hear a dodgy mix.

Posted by TitaniumTrancer on Dec-14-2003 06:43:

not necessarily trainwrecks, but Blank & Jones are by far the worst mixers EVER to become popular DJ's...

listen to their N-Joy radio mix from this last november 30th, each transition is basically dropping the last tune to a faint whisper and blasting in the next one (or sometimes just cutting out from one song instantly into the next). and when they do actually attempt to make a good smooth transition, it often does result in a trainwreck. sometimes their mixing isn't so bad though, i don't know why it varies so much...

also, mike shiver's mix on global dj broadcast in early november had two or three spots with trainwrecks as well.

Not to mention PvD's Mayday 2001 set...I don't think his head was in the right place that day.

Posted by trippennuts on Dec-14-2003 17:12:
