BEST top 5 remix of 2003.....whats yours..

1.astral projection - mahadeva [john 00 fleming mix]...what a remix...simply owns original....
2.motorcycle - as the rush comes [markus shulz mix]..amazing dark mix...after seven 7 minutes it turns into a green martian track...i call it "end of the world" music.
3.coldplay - clocks [gabriel & dresden bootlet mix]..another winner..amazing mix..wow...only G&D could of pulled it off..
4.airwave - when things go wrong 2003..i love it...owns original....
5.avril lavigne - i'm with you [leama & moor mix]..out of no where this monster song came out...OMG..its incredible how 2 people could take the original turn it into this...

Hmm... In no particular order:

Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Armin van Buuren's Universal Religion Remix)
Not counting the Sweeping Strings mix, Armin's remix is great. Is it his standard sound and quality? Yes. But that alone puts it ahead of tons of other remixes.

UNKLE - In a State (Sasha Remix)
When Sasha produces, he makes sure it's worth it.

Underworld - Born Slippy Nuxx (Paul Oakenfold Remix)
I didn't think anyone could effectively remix Born Slippy, but Oakie proved me wrong. Has anyone else noticed that his recent remixes are quite good?

Michael Splint pres Eruption - I Feel Free (DJ Choose & F 'That Mucho' Remix)
Before they started ripping off this sound on successive remixes, this one blew everything up with its power and style.

Mauro Picotto - Coldfunk
Basically a remix of Clocks, I think it's easily the best one.

Hope I didn't miss anything.

Edit: Oooh, Dogzilla - Dogzilla (Mistress Barbara Remix) was really good too.

- agree with Cobalt on this one

Oceanlab - Satellite (Markus Schulz Coldharbour Remix)
- very different from the original, damn amazing!

Jewel - Stand (Markus Schulz Coldharbour Remix)
- as above, i really enjoy Schulz' mixes, this one shows "how to turn a crappy pop song into smooth prog"

Astral Projection - Mahadeva (John "00" Fleming Remix)
- what a remix indeed!

Watergate - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia 2003) (Hemstock & Jennings Remix)
- always liked the Sakamoto's classic melody and H&S turned it into a stormer!!

-technically not a remix but still fooking ace

2.Free*Land - Supernatural Thing (Krust and Die Mix)
-technically not out till jan or feb 2004 but still being hammered on white label, i have a copy....very nice...i love it

3.Introspection (askew remix)
-Just a blinder

4.Shadow feat Roots Manuva - GDMFSOB (UNKLE MIX)
-just massive, still loving that track today
-so sweary

5.Unkle - In A State (Meat Katie and Elite Force Remix)
-simply just massive remix with a massive bassline.

Freeloader - Pure Devotion (Tukan's F&W Remix) <- THE That Mucho-track for me.

Cultivate - Broken Pieces (Goldenscan Remix) <- I never grow tired of this. Fantastic break that builds up an immense pressure before blasting off like a rocket.

Kyau vs Albert - Velvet Morning (Mirco de Govia Remix) <- The only remix that cuts it, but what a remix it is. Pure goodness.

Portishead - Roads (Sultan & The Greek Remix) <- It doesn't get any smoother than this. Lovely guitar as well.

Tom Wax - Mechanical Slavery (Eric Sneo Remix) <- Fast n furious, yet very funky with a break that shows that a simple handclap is enuff to make your speakers emit machinegun frequency attacks. Madness.

-just a few nice twists in the melody and turn the original into a powerful unholy emotional track
Quadraphonic - I Can Feel Your Love (U & K Remix)
-fusing breaks into deep house and trancey synth, the only mix of the track that can break thru the limitation of the original structure
Astral Projection - Mahadeva (Supakane Remix)
-j00f does try to fuse the deep atmospheric ambient sound with the goa dark-ish float of synth and gradually giving his productions a new specific genre.
