Trance is all about the music. Right????????

i have been through many posts, and again and again, people say, oh i hate Dj tiesto, or trance is to commercial. My view on trance is that i live for the music. Who ever is the dj, if i like it, that is all that matters. Why say you hate whoever. Stop arguyin who is the best, and think of why you are in this forum, trance pure and simple.

But we all have our opinions. So what is yours????

I would like to know

If you like the music that a DJ plays then fuck it what anyone else says. Theres a lot of DJ's that my mates dislike (I.E Pete Tong) but fuck them if they want to piss of and listen to Andy Farley and Paul Glazby, its not my fault they have no taste in music

I hate the "too commercial" argument (when used to comment on a track's quality). But fair enough, different people will have differing opinions on DJ's.

Besides this is a discussion forum. If we all said "well we all like Trance so lets leave it at that" it would be a bit boring

good point mate, but atleast we would not get the wasters, who just post crap, oh no they would b here, just the true fans woudnt

I think I got a little lost here. Are we talking about the music or the people that play the music?

Trance music is Trance music .. although trance music is given to name tracks thats not even trance .. but we all know the truth, and thats all that matters..
So.. its your mind, your soul .. the music that takes you to that other dimension .. enjoy it, and dont worry what others will say .. life is ment to be like that, if we all had the same taste and opinion, damm this world would really sux

Since I live in the US, it's kind of hard for me to think of any trance being at all commercial, but frankly, it wouldn't matter to me if it was.

In my opinion, if you cannot enjoy music because it is either commercial or not, than that is a shame. There are a lot of people in this world who don't give trance a chance because it is not commerical enough for them, and some who like trance but only so long as it avoids becoming at all commercial. In both cases, the people who are losing out are the listeners, because they are depriving themselves of the opportunity to enjoy the music for its own qualities by focusing on external factors not directly tied to the music.

I would never want to tie myself down in that way, and am perplexed by the attitudes of those who choose to do so.

I look at it this way, if i like the music i like the DJ. DJ Tiesto plays music that makes me feel like a can take on the bastard world with one arm. DJs like PVD play music that i can stand but it doesnt give me the same energy as what Tiesto`s music does.

Afterall if your at a live gig your listening 99% and watching 1%. Who gives a toss if its a ginger geek with glasses, spots and over 500 pounds behind the ones and twos, as long as he plays music that can fill you full off energy and keep you dancing for longer. I would never write a DJ off because i never heard of him.

i so agree w/ this statement. sure it alwayus more exciting to go watch tiesto or buuren or any other "famous" one, but if one thinks about it - one more or less knows theyre gonna deliver, and do it good, upcoming/unknown djs never tickles one in that point of view - but it should...

its just music, everyone just quit comparing and complaining and listen to the damn music, why is there always politics involved with music, cant we just listen and shut up?

heheh, a peal of wisdom from palivar!!

hey fly, yes i agree with you, forget all this bashing

the only reason why we are here is for the music.
i don't think i'd find this level of community in an alternative/grunge/hiphop/rap forum... the only reason being
is b/c of the type of emotions and feelings that trance evokes

what do i live for? finding that one tune that will change my emotions for the day. that one song that will lift me up and take me away from drudgery of all my pains

pork!
