Dunno Adagio For Strings (DJ Tiesto Remix)

Is this going to be officially released ever? I would love to have a real MP3 and NOT a live rip. This remix is the best of William Orbit's classic "Barber's Adagio For Strings."

Posted by Snooper on Dec-15-2003 14:51:

Ferry Corsten Remix, nuff said.

Posted by GrimReaper on Dec-15-2003 14:54:

What about really support the artist and buy the actual CD/12" release if it ever gets out, not just leech the mp3.

And Orbit just remade Samuel Barber's 1938 classical piece Adagio For Strings, its not his own work.

Posted by Nige| on Dec-15-2003 15:01:

use the search button there 8 fucking threads on this!

and no it wont n released, its on his album coming out in march.

I usually don't buy singles. Sorry if you don't "appreciate" that. I know that it's not supporting the artist but I support artists in every other way. I have over 220 electronica albums bought with my own money, and mind you this has been over a period of a little over a year, I've pretty much drained a lot of my money on CD's "supporting" the artists I like. So back off. All I was wondering was whether this remix would be (or has been) released. And btw...I highly doubt you don't have any MP3's on your PC GrimReaper

Thanx for the suggestion Snooper...I'll check it out.

LOL, talk about hypocracy. Like you never have leeched any mp3s in your life Grim....

Posted by GrimReaper on Dec-15-2003 16:47:

LOL! You ppl are killing me here.

TA doesn't support file sharing so why you ppl ask the mp3s here? Its has been discussed also a million times on TA so plz don't do it.

I have collected mp3s yes but have stopped doing it ages ago.. actually i haven't dl/ed any mp3s except some TA productions & remixes because they aren't available in any other form, yet. All the official releases i can preview in the record stores so i don't need to get mp3s to do so.

And i have a massive 4 mp3s on my comp at the moment, all TA stuff, no official releases.

Nowhere in what he wrote suggested that he Didn't download mp3s, everybody has at some point, artists, producers, dj's, if they say they haven't they're either lying or really really naive. He just suggested that you tried to buy the song you wanted so badly before you downloaded an mp3. Imagine this - everyone waits for an mp3 of something, no1 buys it, how do you think anyone gets it ?

The problem there is, is that too many people download mp3s with NO intention of buying material ever, and that is what is a drain on the scene. A lot of sites are being implemented now or coming over the next couple of years that will allow you to 'buy' your mp3s from artists, consider that at least.

Thumbs up

Well said, Ian! That's exactly what i meant.

lol, you know nothing about Grim. He's one of the few TA's who should be looked up to in regards to supporting the artists. I myself own 2000 singles and i know grim has closer to 10,000!!! Of course he has mp3's but only of tracks he has yet to obtain, or of tracks he already owns (which is legal)

And Dan, your not really supporting the artist buy buying mix comps, the DJ and/or label get paid for it and the artist recieve a small set amount in royalties OR NOTHING AT ALL!!!. The reason they allow there tracks to be used is so they are heard more widely and people will buy the SINGLES!

Anyway, ive said my bit.

Nell

P.S.

TA DOES NOT SUPPORT FILE SHARING. DO NOT REQUEST MP3'S ON TRANCEADDICT.COM!!!

clear?!

real or not this guy aperantly has a promo copy .. about 20 in circulation worldwide, i saw one go for 72 LBS on ebay the other day.

seriously...you people obviously don't know who you are talking to. grim has thousands of vinyls/cds in his collection (he's got stuff that everyone would love to get there hands on), so if you're gonna call someone a hypocrit...look somewhere else

Gee then I guess it is absolutely pointless to go out and buy mix comps...I'll just throw them all away and download them instead since I'm not "really" supporting the electronic music community. Since me buying over 200 cds is not contributing to anything, there just is no point. Thank you Grim for informing me that my har earned money is not worth a damn.

However I guess I won't have to throw out my artist albums from the psy-trance community because they are actual full artist albums.

I swear to god...All I fucking wanted was to ask if this song was ever going to be released and everyone jumps on ym back because I said the word MP3. OMG, you guys really need to get a fucking life.

You atomatically attack me because I've downloaded MP3's, you know nothing about me. And then you tell me I'm not supporting the electronic music genre by buying mix comps.

Let me tell you something about supporting artists. Infected Mushroom is my FAVORITE electronica artist ever. I have bought every single one of their albums and not only that but I am spending over $350 to fly to Texas to see one of there rare U.S. live performances for 1 day. If that aint artist dedication then I don't know what is.

Any by the way about 90% of artists who have there songs on a mix comp don't even have full album releases...and I'm sorry but I'm not going to go out and buy a single when I can buy a mix comp and hear there song on there...but like Grim pointed out, that's just not worth a damn.

I've said "my bit"

- Daniel

How do you know there are around 20 copies floating about?? If I were that guy, i'd at least have put a picture on there so people can see what they're buying. I think i'll email him and ask a few questions...

Posted by Snooper on Dec-15-2003 23:23:

I'm all for supporting the artists by bying their stuff, but you can't expect everyone to buy every f***ing single that's getting released, that's just not realistic. I see no point in flaming people for asking if a tune is available on mp3, we have a couple of forums dedicated to this after all. The question in this topic wasn't where to download either, just if the tune had a proper release. Some people need to calm down here.

Posted by Floorfiller on Dec-15-2003 23:45:

first off, i couldn't care less if you download or not (although we're all tired of those threads...people obviously are quick to accuse)...i just think that people like yourself shouldn't be talking shit to someone like grimreaper who is highly respected on these boards and for good reason. some little kid such as yourself doesn't have any idea what those who have been here for a while know...(this is no claim on my own part for being knowledgable)..

second, maybe if you had eyes you would see a sticky thread at the top of the forum entitled "upcoming releases" and if you'll notice it has the tiesto mix, to the best of our knowledge, being released sometime in March 2004.

maybe you should calm down...

Posted by Streakfury on Dec-16-2003 00:26:

I listened to the sample that he links to on that Ebay page, it's just a press of Tiesto in Concert. What a tit. I'm gonna go complain to him that some people might be fooled into thinking that they're buying an official copy.

EDIT: And can everyone calm it regarding the "lets all flame everyone who mentions MP3's" thing. It's getting old, and i'm getting a bit sick of reading the same arguments repeatedly.

Posted by RenderedDream on Dec-16-2003 00:27:

i would like to know where in this thread someone requested an mp3..so stop that lamme "politics" file sharing shit..
you must also understand that there are some parts of the world that some genre singles simply are not available and importing is just too expensive to think about it..
there's also the case the person is very poor and cannot buy every fucking single just to support some greedy artist
that's my point of view, and you've got yours, and he's got his, and them have theirs, so you can't prove that your point of view is the right one, cause it lacks vision of situation
some people can buy, some don't..will they have to stop listening music cause of it?
and just because some users here are "older", that doesn't mean they are right or they have to be venerated by the newbs..

Are you talking to me or the person who started this post? I'm getting a bit confused here. If you're talking to me (and it sure seems like it) I'd like to point out that I've been here longer than you have, so there goes that argument.

I'm not talking shit to Grimreaper either if that was your impression, all I did was pointing out how ridicolous it is flaming people just because they admit that they're downloading mp3s. Every one of us has done it, downloading a mp3-file doesn't make you a heavy criminal.

The rest of your post seems to be directed to Dan, so I won't bother answering to that. All I want to say is: there's no point in starting a flamewar over this. Let's enjoy the music and keep our peace, is it that difficult?
