is ur radio station studen run? or is it funded by your university?

the reason im askin is .. how are you able to stream on the internet? My radio station is student run, non-profit based. We pay for anything or everything in the station. We used to be able to stream online but pending legistlation in Washington on streaming license fees, our stream is temporarily unavailable.

just wondering..

student run.
we all pay our way thru

we get funding frum alumns here and there and we throw parties that make money, but the uni doesn't give us that much
student senate just recently gave us some tho to rehab our studio
but that was a long time coming

If you dont mind me asking.. how much does your station pay in fees for streaming. ive been Djing at my radio station since fall 2001 and we had streams for a little bit, but then it got taken off, and still theres no word on whether or not we can have it

If its a reasonable fee, i may be able to talk to my General Mananger (hes a cool guy i know him) and see if all the other DJs want stream too.

Ok lemme get one thing straight, ur using vinyls right? And you just mix them like any other DJ? I'm not familiar with this stuff.

And how do you do all the beatmatching and fading so well on the spot? I haven't really noticed any beat conflicts in the transitions yet (I could be wrong).

I say when u run out, just restart from the beginning, OR - go backwards through the tracks and play the first one you played last, that would be neat haha.
