Idea: Buying stream audio

Just thought of this say a couple 100 people use a Apple Xserver to hold 1000 of recent sets sell them with permission from record labels and streaming audio stations but sold by mp3 form throughout a dedicated ftp server.

Price(s)/each:
Singles: 2 Euro/USD
60 minute (set): 5 Euro/USD
120 minute (set): 10 Euro/USD
240 minute (set): 15 Euro/USD
Special (sets): 20 Euro/USD
Old (before: 2003) (sets): $40 Euro/USD

Lifetime (membership): $20 Euro/USD
Platnium (membership/monthyly): $300 Euro/USD*

Don't need to pay for 120 meg of shit... Would rather pick what I choose to D/L. Most D/Ls I try last about 10 seconds before they go to the wastebasket. Haaaaa!

your problem lies in the fact that you are prob. basing this on mix cds and that the actual artist (or record label) will want a large cut of the profits if the mix is sold. i just read that for apple's itunes:

$.88 goes to the record label / artist
$.10 goes to the cost of running the site
$.01 goes to apple

onceler makes an important point. Steve Jobs has already said that his iTunes service isn't a money maker. They're just trying to break even. But in the process, they're hoping that iTunes will drive people to Apple to buy other things. (iPods, Macs, etc.)
