Smoking ..umm..something Fishing Anyone?

Anyone into fishing out there? I fished Saturday evening and again Sunday morning for striped bass. Picked up one 7lb and one 8 on the evening and a 10, 8, and 7 in the morning. Interested if anyone out there in trance land into the outdoors (besides shroom hunting)! Good sport...

Does the doobie smily face suggest you fished stoned?...fishing kinda sounds boring but being stoned would make it better

Posted by smokeape on Dec-17-2003 04:08:

Don't want to be too f-cked up fishing directly behind the turbines of a hydroelectric power plant off a 20 foot cliff in the dark. But, yeah being stoned would make things a little more thrilling - like WTF am I doing here instead of staying home in bed. It's a man's thing though I reckon...

i still like it. like you can go somewhere quiet and just fish.

Oh man i've wanted to start a thread on this for a while ..haha..never had the guts..ehhe

I loveeee fishing...got into it 2 years ago...im a newbie i know...but i've learned a lot in the 2 years... especially watchin bass tournaments on tv..haha..i think i spent about 500 bucks 2 months in gear last summer. If anything, I love the outdoors, especially here up in Canada, its beautiful.
There's nothing like fishin on a pristine lake with no one around you for miles.

Oh and smokeape...the bass u catch are the sizes of the ones in my dreams..LOL..we dont get bass that big up here. 3lb was my largest one. You AMericans get all the fun, and all year round too!..BAss season is over here ;(
Cant wait till April!!!!

For now... trolling for rainbow's and pike will do .

I'd say so! Looks like if it lives in the water you'll fish for it. I need to get out and do some more fishing myself. I've fished all my life but mostly just locally for trout, salmon, sturgeon, bass, catfish, tiger muskie, and of course those damn squaw fish you always end up catching a few of! I've herd of people who make their living off of catching squaw fish. I'm not sure how much they get paid for each one, something like 25 cents.

by squaw fish do you mean the sunfish? those can be fun to catch if you get an agressive male during mating season. but yeah they are annoying...but they are pretty. nothing beats the feeling (except trance) of that feeling when you feel the bite on your rod then you lift and hook them....that is a good feeling.

No, I'm talking about the Northern Squawfish. You can find a brief descripiton of them HERE (Google it if you want more info) They're a disgusting un-eatable fish. When you hook one you just drag it in, they dont fight at all. Oh and they squirt out piss all over the place while your trying to get your hook out.

I've done a bit of lakes & river fishing, though I enjoyed sea-fishing a lot more, mainly cos i love boats & being out on the seas under a hot sun

Really should go again soon

Sounds like fun. I have never actually did any sea fishing, most of my experiences were on lakes.

when i was in the canary isles they had arranged day trips marlin & shark fishing & I'd love to do that, but my grotty brother wouldn't so i was farked cos of the cost coming down with 2 than 1, considerable amount of 's less with 2.

Back there in April/May and might see what trips are available, but it depends on the cost, as I wanna use the 'free' things (sun sand sea etc) rather than spend a bomb on just one day, highly tempting mind
