Freeze functionality in FL4?

Is there any way to add freeze in fl? I know cubase can do this, but I'm not really ready to learn a new sequencer and lay down the cash just for it.
Any plugins or anything that can do this?

i think you can do it for fx's for fruity
go to the mixer, select the fx, and click on "smart disable"

but then again.. i'm not 100% sure if that is the same as the freeze function

Or as a workaround, render to wave, and import to a track. Basically the same as freeze.

that is soooo annoying too do... especially on your leads and string's and such since you gotta play it from the beginning all the time... even when you make a little change in the end of it.

but sometimes you gotta do it :/

It is a function in cubase that automatically saves the sound to wave, so the cpu doesn't have to render it every time you play it. Very handy for slower computers.

I've got the solution for you... an excellent plugin. Too bad it's not freeware, but it's not very expensive and might be well worth it. 14-day trial though.

Its a Function stolen from Logic 6, thats what it is

But it's an excellent function that's being implemented in all the major sequencers... however, if yours haven't got the function, why not checkout the plug? Also, it's arguably better then the freeze function in SX2

Are you involved in this plugin or something? You are pimping it quite a bit.

Lol, no I'm not, but I do think that good software deserves recognition.

Sorry guys but don't really get the point of using FREEZING

Saves CPU?? ByTheWay: that FXFREEZE plugin take CPU too and if you add that effect to every channel , voila CPU is high again ... or not??

If my VSTi doesn't play any notes is it still using lot of CPU? The Graphical interface (GUI) takes CPU offcourse but not too much ...

TIP: decrease your POLYPHON number!! Your bass don't use 16 voices, decrease it to 2 your main lead doesn't take 32 voices use only 4 etc ... sorry for bad english ... hope you understand what I mean.

Comments???

You didn't explain the point of freezing then, since you claimed we are so off base... Have you ever used freezing? Because I think you do not know what you are talking about. When you have many instances of a VSTI that uses quite a bit of processing power (v-station etc), things can start mucking up. Why would the interface waste cpu? When I'm playing, I have all of those closed anyways. Your whole post is a huge rant, without a specific point or structure other than stating that we are all wrong.
