Where to stay?

Hey, I am coming into town most likely next wednesday to sunday and still don't have a place to stay. There are some places that I looked up that seem to be cheap and say they are rite in downtown. They are:
1. Auberge de Jeunesse Int. de Montreal - Located at 1030 Rue Mackay.
2. Manoir Ambrose - 3422 Rue Stanley
3. Hotel Castel Saint-Denis Touriste - 2099 Ruse St. Denis

Please advise where the best place would be to stay if someone was interested in going out, i.e. bars and clubs (most favorable for nightlife). We are defnitely interested in going to either sona or aria. Which one is better and on which days? Thanks!

ok in my opinion Auberge de Jeunesse is the cheapest place to stay in Montreal , and it's a good place (my bro been there before)

As for Sona or Aria , i've been only to Sona and i really liked it ... but it was a special night that's why (PvD & Max Graham) . The best days for sona are friday and saturday night
If you want to know the line up for this week-end , go to www.clubsona.com
For aria go to www.aria-nightclub.com

manoir ambrose is on my street!
its like 4 or 5 houses down from my place!

next weekend, sat aug 4th, max graham will be playing at Sona. and then on sunday the 5th sander kleinenberg will be at Living. so next weekend is a perfect time to be in the city.

check www.clubstereo.com for stereo listings.

if you want a good place to stay for the club/bars, i would recommend the place on st. denis cause that is right near st. laurent.

mckay is near crescent street, and there's lots of action there.
and then stanley is in the middle of those two streets, so you can hit crescent street, or st. laurent or st. denis.

I think McKay is the best street , he's only 2 feet from Crescent , even St-Denis & St-Laurent aren't that far away from it . Montreal is really safe by nighy , so don't worry if you have to walk from clubs/bars to the place where you are going to stay .

In my opinion there's a little difference between Crescent & St-Denis . In the first one , there are more english people , and it's very posh (dress codes) , while in the second street , it's more french and "open" . St-Laurent depends on the clubs you are going to.

And if you wanna shop or something , St-Catherine is the best place , that's where i live actually , between Atwater & Concordia.
