What stores in NYC or LI carry a good selection of monitor speakers?? I want to go test out speakers before I buy rather than buying it online. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ehhh, I dont think there are any stores in NYC that carry an immense selection of monitor speakers, you could try Sam Ash or Guitar Center, those are probably the biggest music stores and I dont think you will find alot there. Most music stores mainly carry acoustics/instruments and stage or loud speakers.

How much are you looking to spend? Just picked up the Event TR-8XL and I'm totally satisfied with them. They retail for just about $600.
