All 3 in one go....

That's insane... u'd be wanting to go home after the second, and it would ruin the third cos u'd be so tierd.

I have tickets to ROTK for Sat 7pm at crown.... Friday was sold out last week.... insane.

Can't bloody wait.

I agree - The marathon is 10 hours of movie... bit much for me but I bet it sells out.

Posted by eRRaTiK on Dec-20-2003 15:52:

just sleep through bits and pieces and wake up for the third :P

Posted by euphoric dream on Dec-21-2003 01:54:

10 hours is not a problem... you guys forget they usually have intermissions? and anyway i'll be running out for a smoke every once in awhile.

I'm just gonna wait till it's been out for a while then see it when the place isn't so packed.

i agree with jon, i hate going to the movies when its packed. pisses me off, there is always some fucktard being annoying. Everything should go straight to dvd. even if it cost more to rent them out, i would prefer watching at home than in the movies.

Bah, the big screen is the only thing that can do justice to Lord of the Rings.

I'll be there at 9am Boxing Day, extremely hung over from Christmas Day shenanigans, watching the conclusion of the greatest trilogy ever filmed

Posted by webmeister on Dec-21-2003 22:14:

Oh, and a friend of mine managed to see ROTK last week (knows someone who knows someone and got advanced screening tickets through them), she said it's absolutely mindblowing - fan-fucking-tastic

Matrix 3 may have sucked, ROTK will demonstrate exactly how a trilogy is supposed to end

The last book was the best (imo), so it was basically garunteed that it would be good before it was even filmed.

I have been waiting for this one to come out. I grabbed tix the first day they were available. I will be watching the first two again this week . This movie will bring the house down. If the crowds are anything like last year I think getting there around 3hours before it starts so I can get da best seats in da house. All I can say is bring it on.

Posted by christos on Dec-23-2003 00:14:

Still need to organise tix....argh!

Will have to do it today!! Anyone been to Knox VMAX cinemas? Any good?

I'm doing the Fellowship/Two Towers Extended Editions double header tonight .. 430 minutes of LOTR goodnees

I think it should be called butt-numb-a-thon

Posted by escee on Dec-23-2003 03:34:

yes i am 100% serious about my previous comments. At my house there is a projector though, so its a big enough screen.

Going to the movies and having people be annoying shits me. Especially during decent movies.

im not a nazi about it, but ive on more than one occasion told people stfu.

i've never read the books, i tried reading the first one a couple of times but i just couldn't get into it. the second time was recently so i had seen the movies and kept waiting for the exciting stuff to happen hehe. but i really enjoyed the movies so i'm looking forward to seeing this, especially the huuuuuuuge battle which i've heard is more massive than the other 2 movies combined

From what I've heard, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields makes the battle at the end of Braveheart seem as tame as the knife-fight in Michael Jackon's Beat It music video

And Neil, the key is to find a good cinema where nobody else goes, or try for those arty cinemas that bogans won't go near .. your movie enjoyment will go through the roof

Posted by DjKronik on Dec-23-2003 05:01:

The problem I find is that cinemas that no-one goes to usually don't have digital sound and the screens are a lot smaller which would kill the whole LOTR experience. But I am not too fussed about seeing the first two before friday as I said before I have seen the others multiple times and I am looking forward to the ROTK more than anything. More than likely I will be watching Monty Pythins: The Life of Brian on christmas eve at a local outdoor cinema.
