Does this happen to everyone or is it just me and other Stanton users??

Ok yes i've made the thread about the Pitch control but i just need to know that do Tech users have this problem??

say the song is beatmatched 100% to perfection on the buildup and such, but when cue happens during the second build up and you start mixing it...and all of a sudden the beat starts going off. I don't mean just a little bit, BUT a whole lot off beat. Does this happen to everyone??? Because i remember when i first got these crap ass Turntables i mixed it and just let it go with a few nudging here and there...NOW its nudging it forward, then 2 seconds later its nudging it back.

Hope that made sense

does this happen to Tech users?

I had Gemini 500Xls and I had that problem, now I have Techs and no problems what so ever.

sounds like it. technics rock. i learned on gemini's. it was a nightmare. but hey if you learn beatmatching on shitty decks you will really enjoy the transition to 1200's, and beatmatching will be much less frustrating.

The first set I started on was str8-80's. I know the problem you had.. b/c it occasionally happened to me. Had my techs now for 5 years and have never had that problem. The stantons (i dont know about the 100's tho) just didnt have the torque needed and then the sensors would always over compensate and bump the actual tempo you were at off by a fraction of a percent

Thats so true its not even funny, I really wonder sometimes about how the hell Technics made such a great turntable so long ago, I think thats what Area 51 was for, not UFOs but the design of the Tech 12s, man if they were never invented we probably wouldn't have music like Trance and House, so where would I be, probably fallen to the hands of Rap and became just another punk kid that thinks hes black and lives in da hood.

Turntables dont make music. They just play music.

What gemini's did you learn on? Im getting a pair of xl-300s tomorrow, and was hoping to learn how to mix trance on them, but now i think ive made the wrong choice

why are you nudging it to begin with? Stop molesting the record when youre mixing!

Yes, I have the same turntables and yes they do mismatch quite often however if you notice its just by +.5 or -.5 bpm. Shitty stanton!

Well what they did was make it possible for the DJs back then to do what we do now, and when they realised this, people making music started to but in the 4 beat and it just progressed from there into what we have now.
Plus Turntablists are now considered as Musicians, well dunno about here but in England they are, and its now looked at as them creating music cos there so fast and can really change the sound of a record, I really gotta give it to those guys, they are DAM good at it.

errrr i don't think you know what your talking about.

When a song goes off beat what are you going to do to fix it? just hoep for the best it doesnt fuck up??

How do you beatmatch?? you nudge in the direction to understand if the song is slow or fast...

Indeed, the problem is that all it takes is that +.5 or -.5 bpm mistake to screw the whole set up.

Makes sense if the techs are better than those stantons of yours... compare the price?

Anyway, i'm glad with my Akiyama Acura's, no mismatching or whatsoever, and less expensive than techs
god bless optical sensors

i have numark TT200's, and i think i might have this problem, though not as serious as what you guys are describing. I think im to the point as a DJ where i can recognize a good beatmatch and i think that the tables might be a part of my problem......anybody else with these noticed this? I've been debating getting Techs but i really dont have the cash...
