Beginner remix, please review

Ok just started this today, I'm still a beginner still (so be nice )

Gouryella - Ligaya (Mehran Rowshanzadeh Mix)

Thanks to Endre who helped me how to make the drumroll thing (i told you i was a beginner ) and how to use the filter (which is not present here though)

btw if the link doesn't work sometimes, just try later or something, Geocities has the tendency to work, then not work

Cheers,
Mehran

Not bad for a beginner at all, however...

... Its not much of a remix at the moment, its more like a rework! Dont be afriad to mess up the main tune and stuff, and use different arrangements, after all a remix is upto you how you make it, so go nuts!

Also, you might want to detune the leads a bit more...mit will make them sound fatter. A tad more treble too I feel!

Hope any of that is some help? If not im sorry for wasting your time hehe!

Keep it up m8, its a good start!

It's coming well together. You should turn down just a little bit the kicks (i think) and give more attention to the hihats.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated.

I'm taking everyones advice and trying to apply them, hopefully it will make it sound more real

Also Shep, my first intention was to make the synth a bit more fatter but i didn't know how to, can you please tell me how i can do this??

Hey buddy...

What I do to phatten up my synths is use a synth that is an octave lower in sound to another one, also detune each to about 20 and -20cents each thats a rough guide! A far bit of high end and a slight amount of mid can also help but this depends mroe on what type of sound your wanting!

Another trick you could try is have 2 of the exact same synths, one panned left the other right, and on the panned left synth add a delay that is panned all the way to the right and vice versa, gives some fantatsic stereo effect!

Hope any of that is some help?

Shep

hehe yeh, i just realised now it was loud, i guess the kicks i used previously were just too weak and just got hidden away under the synth, got a little carried away and raised the volume to much there to show the bassline
