to label or not to label your cds....cdrs...
i like putting jewel inserts and backcover designs but i never even thought of putting a label on the cd itself. always hesitant since maybe the labelwill damage the cd or the heat will mess it up and melt or whatever.
at the same time, putting another layer on the top might also help it last longer protecting the top laayer of all the infos on it.
what do you guys think
i think you're worring too much. either print a proper label on and stick it on using the proper sticking stuff, not like random glue, or write on it with a cdr writting pen.
just write on it with a pen, screw the labes... too much time and money.... i doubt you'll be using those cdrs by the time they deteriorate anyway.

id avoid used self-labeled cds in a car stereo - mine melted in the heat and killed the radio.....
best thing atm: buy "clean" cdrs and print the cdr - works best but even more expensive, but u can use the printer for its real purpose printing on paper......
I print the records out on paper and stick it in the jewel cases if I have them (someone gave me like 300 of the slim ones). I just buy spindles and use the slim cases and paper at the front.
thats another thing
i use sharpie on my cdrs. wondering if the alcohol will hurt it. if it has any. i use the fine point one. not too fat and not too sharp or skinny.
is that fine
I've always used Sharpies on my CDs. I probably burned over 300 now and never had a problem with any of them due to using a Sharpie marker.

Half the CD-Rs I get are clear on both sides. I just take a permanent magic marker and strike the top so I know which side is which. BTW, I normally buy the CD-Rs on sale and never spend anything on them except for sales tax and the postage for the rebate!
