Wesley Clark on Talk of the Nation NPR

Well, I just listened to Clark do an interview on NPR today. Overall, I say he did a pretty good job. He emphasized the need for a strong US military, a concentration on efforts to attack terrorism (not diversions such as Iraq), and greater international cooperation and solidarity through the use of the likes of the UN and NATO. Furthermore, he emphasized that the US was not placing enough pressure on Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and that he would remained committed to Iraq, yet would try to wrap up operations as soon as possible to place more forces in the hunt for Bin Laden. Additionally, he also somewhat clarified that flap about his disagreeance with a British commander over his initiation of "world war 3." At any rate, I noticed two things about his interview that I found extremely admirable: A) He remained solidly focused on emphasising his position and his solutions on several issues. B) Not once did he bash Bush nor any other democrat on their campaign/positions/record. Overall, I would say that his interview was largely devoid of the over the top rhetoric you would hear coming from Dean or Bush. Reminds me of a democratic version of McCain, and he sounds like someone who can definetely work with congress to get things done. He's definetely bagged my vote ...

Here's a link to an audio interview ... it won't be up until 6pm EST however.

Edit: oh yes and domestically, he said the tax cut was good, but not efficient (should have been geared more to the middle class) and he also emphasized constitutional values.

- Yep, I heard it too.. good interview. Ive heard rumours that if Clark goes for Presidency, Hillary Clinton would be the vice president.. true or not?!!.. If so, That would really kick ass!

i would rather have him going against bush

but does he have to talk like he thinks the ppl that he's talking to are morons. it was on NPR, how many rednecks really listen to NPR? it was annoying how he dodged certain questions. but a pretty good interview overall. lol he definately fucked up a few times tho. like when he said "i dont look at numbers" when talking about the economy. he should have said "I dont look at numbers as much as..."

anyways, i like him. a lot more than dean. if only he got clinton's endorsement then maybe 2004 would be interesting. as it is now, its Bush for 4 more. and then who knows, im not sure a woman can become president yet in the US (not legally speaking of course).

I don't want Bush in office and I certainly don't want Dean there either. Dean's political campaign is a joke. Bush's numbers were down until the capture of Sadam. Bush has until November to keep the numbers up. Hopefully in the months to come Clark will grasp the votes of the American citizens and push them both out of the running.

One can only hope
