Like my new uber-leet toy (not a dildo so tta need not enter)

it came to my attention in another thread that whilst some people in life want fancy shoes, others of us want the most simplistic things that neither cost us the earth or turn us into obnoxious assclowns

Bow down b4 the magical slinky

Posted by Coup on Dec-22-2003 23:03:

Posted by torontotrance on Dec-22-2003 23:03:

I have 4 slinkys

the original type are metal not plastic !

i got 2 metal slinkys and 2 plastic slinkys

Posted by arctic on Dec-22-2003 23:04:

That's clearly an Australian slinky, as it looks good, and therefore can't be Canadian.

/me stares at tta.

I still can't get over that avatar. The expression on it is priceless.

i'm having bad childhood lapses in connection with numerous tangled slinkies

/gets his slinky out of the drawer and plays around

Posted by tranceDJ on Dec-23-2003 00:29:

Plastic ones suck, they would always get tangled and wouldn't work well. Best thing to do with them IMO is to get them to go down a whole flight of stairs.

Someone try this! And take a videocamera with you

Posted by ASOT100 on Dec-23-2003 12:38:

and if for some god forsaken reason you get tired of playing with it (which i highly doubt), you can tangle it all up and try to untangle it (it'd become a puzzle, hours of entertainment... or frustration) hehe

"The makers of the thing have somehow convinced themselves and others that a film revolving around a length of metal coil is a suitable investment. "We are creating a completely imaginary, full world all based on the Slinky," says the film's director Henrique Vera-Villanueva. "The main character is a big Indiana Jones-type Slinky.""

Hmm, if it works then you'd have a perpetual motion device...kinda.

actually metal ones got caught just as often, you had to be pretty careful with both

who invented the slinky? pretty ingenious invention, besides being a classic toy, it also helps demonstrate wave motion
