Best programs and why

thought that the people who produce music should say what programs they use/have used and if they recomend them and say why they are good.

Posted by dbl on Dec-22-2003 23:52:

but FFS... is it soooo damn hard too use a freaking search function?????

there is million of threads asking for what people think is the best program too use and such......

i'm going freaking crazy.... hehehehe

i can answer for like all the peoples in here
- i'm using fruityloops/fruitystudio.. i think it's great.. it handles VST's great.. an awesome program

- i'm using reason... it's awesome... it doesn't handle VST's, but the synth's in it is soo good that i don't need any...

- i'm using buzz... it's great...

i don't know anything about buzz.. but the people using it like's it offcourse

- those programs is for loosers.. they suck... i'm using cubase and all the other super pro programs.. they are awesome..

u get my point?????

if not, it is that all people here are using different programs and they all like the program they use..
and they all recommend them..

enought talking.. THE END

i thought the point of forums was to talk, not to research old posts (although if that's what you like then go for it). there are new people around and maybe by asking he'll get a new point of view or get someone else engaged in a conversation that previously would not have taken place.

peace,
musashi

with your small postcount i'm pretty sure that you have no idea at all how many conversations like this we have had... and with just reading one of them he can get all the answers he want

^ This is true. There are threads like this with plenty of answers in them that are only a couple weeks (days?) old.

This topic comes too often. There is no need to discuss this every week since its been killed.

....yet spending a whole thread on why we shouldn't talk about it makes perfect sense....

Posted by State of Matter on Dec-23-2003 01:12:

...because we hope that the original poster, and any other people who might be viewing this thread, will think to help themselves first by doing a bit of research before asking for it...

Posted by Massive84 on Dec-23-2003 01:21:

the whole question of what programm is best, is actually stupid tbh..

because everyone will tell you diffrint..

people like Mk-S, Endre, Haak etc.. will say reason, coz they use it and are good at it..

People like dbl, costa del sol, luke terry say Fruity loops coz they use it and are good at it..

so the answer will be at your self, so i suggest you download some demo's and try out? or read the offcial sites of Music producing software, and try to compare.

thats my opinion.

The problem is.. they flame the original poster for not searching, then they go ahead and tell them what they asked..

i, too, am new to the forums too (been posting maybe a month or 2) and notice the plethora of questions asking which programs are good etc. maybe there should be a sticky'd post (and maybe locked for no replies?) with all the usual replies those threads normally get like "it's not about what you use, it's how you use it" and maybe short descriptions of all the common progs that are available.

1) it'd get a lot of newbie questions out of the way
2) it'd sort of make a nice welcome to the forums

just a suggestion.

we have had a discussion about that, but we never got one since there isn't many moderators or admins looking around here.

they don't care about us *cries*

hehehehe

well damn it, the production forum NEEDS a moderator!

If you take a look to the best programs thread of 10 seconds ago
you could have read that ITS NOT THE PROGRAM BUT THE MAN BEHIND THE PROGRAM. I've heard great stuff from fruity and I've heard crap from a 100000 $ studio

HOPE THIS ENDS THE BEST PROGRAM THREAD FOR A DAY

I agree that a sticky should be made for new users and their different options for begining. I'm sure people would contribute to this knowing that the question may never have to be answered again. For the new users, almost every single topic has been covered about production. Some people do get tired of ansering the same question and will tend to post less information each time the question is asked. Thats just the way it is. I also agree that it doesn't matter which platform you use whether it be pc or mac, which sequencer, or whether a person prefers hardware or software. What it comes down to is how much effort, time, and dedictation you put into learning. Amazing songs can be made with free software such as buzz. I started with fruityloops since it was one of the least expensive programs out there. To make the most out of it you need to use vst's. I then messed around with reason which is still my favorite software.
