Colplay Clocks Remix. Need Samples...

Im currently workin on a trance remix of coldplay clocks... but instead of just re-sequencing the piano part myself (as i always end up doin) i wanna be able to put samples of the original song in it... ive heard this done in all the other remix's. Where can i get such samples? i tried ripping them off the original song but it doesnt loop properly. also, i need an acapella for it... wheres the best place to look?

There must be some shit hot sites out there with all these samples and acapellas??

PLEASE HELP!?

You'd probably get more help in the Production forum.

If your just doing it for yourself, who cares how many remixes there are ?

When I feel like doing a vocal remix I usually hunt around the MP3 sites and also things like WinMX and so on. Just do a search on accapellas. Not saying you will get what you are looking for as I rarely do but you may stumble on some other stuff that will inspire other tracks.

When it comes to the sampling of the original piano from the song it does work but you need to figure out the time signature as it's not based on a 4/4 you need to adapt it slightly as it will be slightly off. As I recal the first note on the first bar doesn't actually start on the first step if you get my drift. (Not a wizard at music technical terms I have to admit).

You will actually find that a lot of the remixes do actually re-sequence and don't use the orginal sample. These guys just now how to get the right piano sound and so on.

I know where you are comming from though with some things that you feel you just have to do. I am the same with certain songs although I'm not big on remixing on the whole.

pedantic mode/ Anacrusis /pedantic mode

There you go- thats the sum total of my 2 years of A level music. (just kidding- kinda... )

You should be able to get it to loop properly- if you cant be assed actually looping it- then trigger it each time ( not gonna get too technical with this as ive just got home and ive had a few shandys)But then i use a load of Akai samplers, not software samplers or whatever you are using.

experiment!

the piano loop seems to slow down in the middle of the loop but come back into phase at the end... its weird! but the commercial remixes dont seem to have n e problems! well ive given up on it now n e way i think... theres too many of em anyway as so many ppl have so kindly pointed out!

Any ideas on n e more remixes i could be doing?

Dez
