Electronic music sub-genres
The more I read about electronic music, it gets bigger and it doesn't stop. I've met many people at events and have talked to them.. their taste in electronic music is not only in trance.. I've heard of so many sub-genres I can't remember 90% of them.. but people like their music and I'd like to experience what they hear. My big plan is to experience as much electronic music as possible.. from ambient.. to house.. prog.. trance.. jungle..trip hop.. industrial whatever.. the list gets even larger.. when u get into the sub-sub-genres.. i mean.. what's Diva House? Have you heard of it? So I'd like to ask all of you a favour.. if you guys are into any other form of electronic music.. please post it here along with artists and producers that would give me an impression of what each genre.. sub-genre.. sub-sub-genre is like..
So please list even the obvious genres.. and the obvious artists/producers.. I'm sure I probably don't know them anyway.
Progressive House - Steve Porter, John Digweed, Steve Lawler
Progressive Trance - D:Fuse, Christopher Lawerance, Scott Stubbs
Trance - Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto
House - Bad Boy Bill, Dj Dan
Hard house - Lisa Lashes, Commander Tom, Tidy Boys/Girls ??, BK
Jungle/Drum n Bass - Tommy Illfingas, Kosheen, Aphrodite, Ed Rush
Its a start...

electro - westbam, lexy & k-paul, miss kitten, etc.
tribal/tribal house - steve lawler, chus & ceballos, etc.
Most of these genres u hear about are bs and dont really exist, theyre just (usually bad) descriptions of certain tunes. There arent really that many real genres. Dmatrox listed more or less all of the real genres.

Tribal House is really Danny Tenaglia (tho he plays a wide variety), Steve Lawler, Tom Stephan, That Kid Chris (find his single called Tonight (tribal apache mix

Hard House is funny tho cuz some of the hard house deejays have moved to hard dance but go with Tony De Vit (RIP!), his 1995 EM which I have...nice imo and his GU's 1 and 5 Tokyo and Tel Aviv. The old fergie style before he went lame techno.

see emotional is a word that describes another. It has been used with techno, ambient but it is still not a genre.
