Is this decent for a brand spanking new DJ?
Ok, I love trance music, I first listened to it in 6th grade from my older cousin and went to my first rave in 8th grade now im in 11th. I know the whole pro's of getting nothing else but technics, But i simply have a better chance of seeing god then I do of getting tech's within 1 year, So i got these tables....http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&category=14987
and then I bought 70 vinyl, trance and progressive house.... http://64.4.30.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_...em%3d2582570833
So is this i guess decent just beginning to see if I will enjoy it or not, the tables and vinyl? I know the vinyl is outdated but its the best bang for my buck I could get 70 compared to 17 for the same price. anyway thanks for reading a reply would be great.
My friend got the battle pak, and I don't personally like it, but you'll learn on em eventually. The mixer is straight crap, the faders are weak, along with the eq's. The tables are made of plastic and the platter doesn't seem too stable. Just overall cheaply made. *But* if it's all you can get, then damn, make the most of it.
Id suggest shelling out for some Stanton STR8-60s, they are 200 each and have a good solid design, direct drive and it is metal so it will last longer. They aren't the best turntables Stanton offers but they are the turntables I would get if I had to go for the cheapest stuff. If you buy them new they come with cartridges, They go for 170-200 bucks a pop, so all you would have to worry about is this mixer and you can find a good deal on ebay.
thanks for the replys, there already bought so Im going to try to learn. Determination.
i just started djing as well... picked up my tables about a month ago. Instead of getting those stantons next like that guy suggested... you should prolly just go on ebay or www.craigslist.com and look for a deal to come along. i got an 2 year old black mk2 for 200, and a 1 year old 1200 m3d for 250. good deals come along.... just gotta be patient. and its more worth it to wait a bit and shell out a lil more money for better equipment.
yeah. i just floated around on ebay for the past 2 months looking for some tables and a good deal. i found one: 2 m3d's with new ortofon cartridges for 794 bucks. if i bought em new, they would run me well over 1000 bucks. just be patient both with buying and mixing. get the technical stuff down first then you can be creative!
Yup, i also got a great deal on ebay: $510 for 2 mk5's with new shure whitelabel cartridges! believe it or not, it's true. you just gotta be patient.
