Dunno Dance Valley / Mysteryland

Hey, following on from posting asking about info regarding Sensation
White (thanx for your help btw) ... My girl and I are now debating
going to Dance Valley (or possibly Mysteryland) so what can you tell
me about em ? Obviously I've heard of both but not really familiar
with dates, locations, lineups, size etc.

As I live in the UK and have always attended Homelands/Global
Gathering/Creamfields/Summer Sound System, I am particularly
interested in views of people who have been to these or have
travelled from US/UK to get there ... Any info would be gratefully
received

Well I am a Dance valley junky so if i was you I would go to dance valley

Dance Valley is held in a place called velsen near amsterdam. The mainstage is situated on a giant hill. I think it is about 50 meters high. The dj booth is on the lowest point. When you stand on top of the hill you have a really great view on the terrain and partypeople.

When you walk to the right from this picture position there is a giant plateu. There is the hard house area

If you look at those mainstage pictures you will see on the background the tents. There are about 13 tents with each a different musicstyl. Usually there are about 2 - 3 out door areas. Mainstage, hardhouse and this year for the first time global stage hosted by carl cox & friends
Global Stage.

Dance valley is during day time but when the sun goes down you will get this kind of pictures:

summer 2004 is the 10 edtion of dance valley: what can you expect:

date: august 7

between 60 000- 70 000 partypeople
Great line up. Dj mag top 40 wil be almost completely performing. also there will be a few suprises. Special liveacts en djs just for DV edition 10. The full line up will be announced in may i think.
nice party crowd. nice atmosphere
hopefully great weather

Mysteryland is also nice party, but line up is in my opinion not as good as dance valley. And in the 2002 when I went to dance valley and mysteryland the DV-crowd-and-vibe was a lot better.
Mysteryland is also near amsterdam.

hmm me and my partner in crime were thinking of going to dance valley and sensation..but is sensation around july 12 again?

the hting is we will be able to go to holland only for a day since we wont stay anywhere..we wil only get there by train from the bottom of eastern europe.. so how far apart are sensation and dancevalley...also..do u think those 2 are the best choices?
ive been to sensation black last year..as well as i love techno..and both were amazing experiences....considering im coming from boring canada

thanx

Well Sensation Black is july 10. Dance Valley August 7.

Also July 3 there is a big techno party called Awakenings Festival. It is also very very good.

But yeah in my opinion Sensation isnt a good party. Love Parade, Nature One, Dance Valley, Mysteryland, Awakenings Festival. They are all great partys and a worth a visit. Much more than Sensation

This is a nice dance valley vid from TA member Laszlo. He didnt filmed the techno areas from dance valley but in fact there are 2. One outdoor, one in a tent. But this vid will give you a nice overview from the festival.

i thought sensation was very good..i mean i know its very commercial and everything but the atmosphere and the 'show' is a good experience..

i also went to i love techno last year..and i dontk now if i should go again or which other festival..other than dancevalley.?

Posted by basvh on Jan-25-2004 21:08:

also mysteryland is very good. it is held end of august. august 21 i think. If you go to dance valley and mysteryland you have the best festivals holland has to offer. Well I think the best festivals the world has to offer

As our Dutch DV junkie said: Go to Dance Valley, it'll be the 10th edition this year, and will surely be one of the best parties of the year! Atmosphere is amazing, haven't seen something equal to it at any other party in Holland. Mayday does, but that's not Dutch

Also Awakenings Festival is an awesome recommendation if you're into techno, was very cool last year! Atmosphere is great there too
