Download my New Years Set - Starts melodic, progressively gets harder until climax :D

this set shouldve been out about 2 weeks ago, but the past month has been the busiest of the year. Between school, work, and life, Ive been swamped...

The past week I was on a cruise in the Caribbean :wiggle: I had an incredible time, but I felt bad that I left you guys without a set

anyway, I recorded this one on my new CD decks, the Pioneer CDJ800s, but I used my old, super-shitty mixer, a beat up Behringer VMX300 (I sold my Pioneer DJM3000, getting a new mixer sometime in the next month. As well I used my tech1200s of course). so the sound quality isnt exactly top notch, at least its not at all up to par with my past sets recorded on the Pioneer, a solid professional mixer. Some mixes are dead on, some are a little muddy sounding, which I blame on the mixer and my lack of spinning for the past 2 or so weeks Im not 100% satisfied, I find the mixing on my previous sets much better (check out 11-16-03 in my signature), but what are ya gonna do

but the bottom line is this: solid tracklist, it starts off a little more melodic, then progressively builds to climax and doesnt let go. a great way to bring in the new year

CUEFILE FOR BURNING
http://w.auth.org/ot/delerium/Jordan-12-30-03.cue
For those that dont know, the cue file is used for burning so that it breaks the set up into the different tracks it consists of. If you burn the set using the cue file, the set will be broken up seamlessly, for easy searching. Aswell, if you have a good CD player, the track names will be listed when your listening. To burn using the cue, download the cue to the same folder as the Mp3. Go to www.goldenhawk.com and download CDRwin. Open the cue (or cuesheet) in CDRWIN and burn. enjoy

Wow you definitely crammed alot of songs into 70 minutes!!! nice tracklist and yes quite a few of the transitions did sound a little iffy but good job nonetheless!

DeleriuM2K, I just don't have the right words to tell you how awesome this mix is. Thanks Mate for sharing this great set.

I am listening as Im writting..

Tracklist is awesome (when Im in the mood for uplifting)

I never heard the 2 other Envio tracks but they are great as hell

Mixing is pretty decent... I like longer transitions though..

Looking forward to hear new mixes in the future from you..

Listened today and I really like the mix. As you said, the mixing isn't great, but it's good enough to keep me listening to all the hot tracks! Love the Envio ones.

Quick question.. i'm runnin a behringer djx 700 and stanton 500all2 needles. I'm recording onto soundblasterlive and frankly the soundquality is quite crap. I'm thinkin i need better needles to improve it but other than that any tips to improve sound qualitY?

Posted by DeleriuM2K on Jan-07-2004 19:23:

is it better or worse than the sound quality of this set? It could be that your needles are worn out, so change them. also, make sure you have good quality cabling running from your mixer to your computer. also, it may be your mixer... behringer isnt exactly famous for their sound quality

I really love the track selection; the songs go great together. But...some of the transitions are bad, as said before. Also, I thought that a few of the songs were mixed too short.

Posted by matty_dyson on Jan-11-2004 15:44:

mix is good mate, liked it alot. but like you sed there was a few transition errors.

how did you get hold of:

Agnelli & Nelson - Holding onto Nothing (i carnt find this ne were)

Oceanlab - Satellite (Above & Beyond mix)

And i carnt get hold of this untill 1st feb!!!!

Talking

Great track list, you've got a bunch of my favorites in there. As people have suggested, some longer mixes could've been used. Also, I kept waiting for that peaking track toward the latter part to make it an even more memorable set, but never really heard it. Can't think of anything to use straight away, but maybe someone has a suggestion for your next mix...looking forward to it in any event!
