Destiny 7/10

Good party.

Got there at 10:30, and ran to the back for Jelo and Deko-ze

Their set was the set of the night for me. I enjoyed the rest of the trance lineup, couldn't stand most of the vibe in the Jungle Room.

I wish they would play more House at raves.

More complete review when I get back to work next week.

Maybe I'm just a superstar DJ whore...

Check that, I gave Deko-ze his props for blowing away Tiesto last December.

There is a definitely different sound between most of the trance you hear at clubs and what you hear at raves.

One is harder-edged, almost rougher in its 'youthful' exhuberance.

The other is more highly produced and more 'elegant'.

In my old age, not only am I leaning toward more house, but also more 'elegance'.

Got screwed out of morning breaks by D-Monic (did he show?)

I hadn't been to a party in ages where they played 'get out now' music. Usually it's music cut and house lights up. Can anyone ID the track that drove us from Viva?

Yeah, I know three posts to start the review thread. I'm kind of gearing up for the 'Zone at home.

how was Talla?

Night was good, first time to Viva, and first time seeing talla. Talla was good, but deko-ze and jelo were even sicker . Only complaints where about the little jungle kids running around and that the 19+ bar area was RAMMED. Overall the night went very well, and appropriately ended for me with Demonic's breaks set in the tent.

what can i say??? it was a great party.

good crowd, i liked the vibe....everyone seemed to be having a blast! i was really surprised with how friendly most ppl were. talla was good but didn't blow me away. i aslo loved some of the jungle and dnb they had goin...but i was a lil worried they would be playing the trance in the tent for the whole night! phew...


i can't really recal any of the songs that were played but 1 that really sticks out in my mind is this crazy remix of in the club by 50!!!! LOL i know i know, but it was actually fuckin awesome.

when tech came on i didnt know what to expect, but all i gotta say is WOAH, just relax. their stuff is too dark and insane for my tastes but a little variety doesnt hurt. the dvd played during their set was ummmmmm,...different! i really found it hard to try and concentrate on the music and dance plus my girl didn't really dig that stuff either. =/

what else is there to say??....o ya! nice to finally meet the man himself, Dell (think thats how u spell it) aka Swamper! glad to see ya havin a good time and chat with ya for a bit. cant wait for the next big one!!!!!

and its too bad that i couldnt meet any other TA's. it wouldve been cool to party with y'all. ....last but not least, thx to destiny, temporal rythm, and viva for organizin the event and also my gal Sue for commin out to her first rave and having a wicked time!!!!!!

i give the night a 9/10 just cuz im still so damn young!

It was overall a good experience. Met a lot of great people. (thanks again for having us over) Dekoze and Jelo ripped it up. OS-2 was great too. I was really dissapointed in the rest honestly. That's of course my own opinion, no offense to anyone who may have liked it. We were glad we came. Meeting tons of awsome people made it worth the trip. Thanks for making our new years a good one.

Just got up got home at 2pm will review later but I will say wicked fucking party.

Dude what positive reviews...
That was a joke and you smoke crack if you think that was a good time.
A place filled with punk-ass kiddy-pops that still need there ass wiped is not my idea of a good time.
Futher-more listening to whom ever those jokers were screaming at the top of there lungs over crap jungle music sucked my big one.

To top it all off I would take the Vietnam crowd @ Viva any day over the punks. I felt like a babysitter at that place.
Oh well to each his own but they won't get my 50 bones next year. I would have rather stayed at home!

There are a$$holes anywhere you go. We met a lot of cool people while we were there, with exception of decoze and jelo, and os-2, the music wasnt that great. if you couldnt atleast enjoy yourself and make the best of it, thats too bad. The vibe starts with you.

Don't mean to be a cronic complainer but Talla was the headliner and as far as I know he is not Jungle.
I was under the impression that the jungle and drum/bass music would be in the tent. Anyway to each his own.
It was more the crowd that was the disappointment.
But what do you expect ofr NYE it's all about the $$$ not the Vibes!

actually, the bigger headliner was technical itch who were jungle

+ the set times were posted on here earlier, clearly you could see jungle in the main room for the first half of the night

damn good party

I thought this was an amazing party, i had a really good time , met some good ppl. Complaining about a young crowd is foolish, you knew that it was a all ages party, i was acually expecting a younger crowd (they all seemed to follow the jungle around) I liked the space for dancing in the mainroom for 0S2 and talla. Only bad vibe i got was from those sketchy asians taking up half the dancefloor stuck in k-holes. It took securtiy way to long to kick them out. Good music for the most part, first time seeing that Dr. Trance geezer, decent tracks but my god your too old and your mixing skills are seriously lacking. Vivas lighting and sound could also be improved, but im getting picky........ Oh yea Jelo was amazing.
8.5/10 party
10/10 afterparty, basement dance party crew represented.

My ~Review:

The night was awesome!!!!! This was my first new-years party outside of my house, so anything's good for me.

The sets were great, except OS2 wasn't on for long enough, but he dropped some very excellent uplifting trance. I also sorta liked the jungle/d&b stuff played at the start of the night, except the MC shit sounded like poop.

The tent was the place to be until OS2's set which led to Talla's incredible set of classics and new tracks that blew me away.

I gotta say that the night was great, except for the crowd... too packed into the place, maybe 50 to 100 less people would be a bit more comfy for dancing, and the bar was way too packed as well. Other than that, it was a great new year. Thanks TR and Destiny!!!

ALSO: some girl got a digi-photo of me facing the crowd against the edge of the bar, while the lasers were scattering, and the pic looked amazing!!!... but I fergot to ask to get it sent to me... if that girl reads this... e-mail me please!!!! [email protected]!!!!!! I want that pic!!!!

This night KICKED ASS!!!!! I would definately go back for more destiny event and NYE!!! *HINT HINT ANOTHER NYE @ VIVA, U HAVE MY SUPPORT!!!*

First Ever NYE Party and it blew me away, great music great crowd!!!
The tent blew me alway till talla came on! great crowd in the tent too up in front lots of support for the DJs. This crowd was so much better than all the Viva regulars on any other events!!! I have NO complains!!! met some good ppl, I would party with this crowd any given day! I loved Talla's 2 hour set!!! wut happen to all the TA's I was expecting all lots of u to show up and support ?!?!

Viva sound systems could be improved I think it wasn't as loud as it usually is maybe it's cuz of the two rooms etc.

allright...finally my hangover is gone and i can post my review. In general i think the night was allright. I didn't dig all the jungle going on in the main room, for me it was too much. But hey...that's why we had two rooms, right? The tent kicked ass and that's pretty much where i was most of the time. I'm gonna have to bitch about the size and the lights in the tent though. I noticed that tent was getting packed really quickly and pretty soon there was not enough room for everybody and why was it so bright in there??? If this was in the main room then this would've been "Tha NIGHT" of my life.

Now something about that bar area if that's what u guys wanna call it. I've been places and i've seen this before. How stupid do u have to be to put entrance to the bar and exit in hands of one person. I need to wait in line in order to get out from there????? just because the guy is busy carding ppl who want to get in? That's plain fucked.

Ok...enough said. Overall i had great New Years. First time to Viva...good experience. First time to Destiny/Temporal Rythm production...good experience. I think they did a good job. There's no way to make every1 happy but i think they did just fine. Give 'em some credit

TrickDaddE sorry to hear that u didn't like it. Looks like the supply hunt didn't go to well.

WHEW! Good thing I didnt come ... I like drum 'n bass, but in small doses only. And lots of hard techno in the line-up, dont see any GREAT reviews. So good thing I didn't come. But looks like another fine party at Viva, and I am looking forward to come to a Viva party sometime soon (again).

So far looks like the Christmas Bash party was WAAAAAAAAAAY BETTER than this one! Cause almost everything about that party was excellent, except for ventilation system and too much f---ing people smoking dope and cigarettes, and the fact that about 2 or 3 TAs showed up! What a party you missed, haha!
