VAN: live jazz...

ok ok i know this may not be the place to ask it, but i dont see any jazz addict websites around so here it goes.

wondering if any1 round here can suggest a few places that play live jazz etc.
doesnt have to be a club persay, can even be a bar/restaurant

and before u bannish me, i still love trance in all its crazy forms

There's a place in New West on 6th Street between the 7-11 and the Chevron that has live jazz and apparently is quite good.

Forget the name of it, but it might be rather small compared to what you're looking for.

I was trying to find out about live music (non-dance) at the end of last year and was told that both the Sugar Refinary and the Jazz cellar have stopped doing live acts.

oh, no! I really liked the cellar because it's small and...nobody chats during the play. oh...that's too bad.

i live like 20 minutes away from the cellar by foot...too bad i can't stand jazz

Actually, there is a club on Bute, 1100 or 1200 Bute St, I think. It's not far from Nelson and Burrard. They have live jazz every Wednesday and Thursday. In fact, I'm planning to go there tonight and check out their live jazz.

It went really well. The place is called jupiter's cafe and it's located on 1216 Bute St. They have live jazz on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is no cover charge, so you can go in buy a drink and talk to friends while listening to some nice chillout jazz.

There is also two cafes called Brokowski's and Kino that also have live jazz. Kino on Tuesdays and Brokowski's on Thursday I believe.

Hehe, 1216 Bute is on the intersection of Davie and Bute. Jupiter's very hard to miss. It's located on the second floor btw.

Never been to Brokowski's and Kinos, but I want to check these 2 out

hmm second floor you say.. well cant remember the name of whatever was at 1216 bute, but i didnt see any stairs going anywhere...

It was hard to spot the first time I went there too. You have to be more observant . That's all I can say

Went to Kino's today. Pretty good jazz. A bit un-synchronized. The same band always plays there and they are doing this as a hobby
