Tiesto @ Sunshine People Perth

AWESOME !!!!!

the event pissed me off a bit because they are really stingy about the parking. you have to park inside not "outside" otherwise they wont let you in boooooo!!!

anyway...he is great, although i still like armin better, but it has been 2 years since i saw him at TT 2002. 3 hours

tracks remembered by me

tiesto - traffic
veracocha - carte blanche
marco v - c:/del.*mp3
KATANA - TRIBAL SHOCK <------ FUCKK YEAAAAHHHH
conjure one - tears from the moon (tiesto remix)

....im too blurred to remember the others..

there are few tracks with really sweet female vocals and nice uplifting synthesizer...anyone knows..??

pretty average set by the worlds "best dj"... he was good, but i've heard waaay better!! he played some wicked tracks... it kicked serious ass when he dropped one of my all time favest portishead trax.. aaah i loved it!

awesomely wicked day!

Tisto is a God.
Best live set i've ever heard. Fkn Amazing.
Favorite track was William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings.
Aww fuck I wish the night never ended

Re: Tiesto @ Sunshine People Perth

yeah there were some wierd things on the day, i tried to leave at one point to put some stuff back in my car but was told that if you left you couldnt come back, wtf?!

why bother stamping people then?

Posted by Antistatic on Jan-02-2004 11:50:

Tiesto was good. Definitely not the best live set I've heard. I still liked him better than CJ Bolland.

Posted by calum on Jan-02-2004 13:34:

My thoughts for the day...

Tiga - played some nice rocking electro, although I thought it was probably a tad dark for 4pm, but pretty rockin none the less.

Adam kelly - great warm up set for Tiesto, pity tiesto didn't kick on from where he left off.

Tiesto - Some fantanstic tracks played, but I thought his set lacked any sort of structure, it was very random. His last set in Perth at 2-tribes was far superior. He seemed pretty tired, and I dont blame him after doing Syd, Melb then Perth in the space of 24hrs. Wasnt the best set I've ever seen, but definately not the worst.

Kenny L - 15 mins of utter shit as he filled time as CJ Bollands gear was set up. Was a sample of some of the churches finest tunes

CJ Bolland - It would have been a fantastic live set, had the technical difficulties not surfaced thoughout his set. Those levels were off the scale at some points, and the speakers really struggled - cutting out and sounding like they were gonna explode on occassion. At one point I could smell the speakers burning

Overall not a bad event... 3/5

Posted by Huebor on Jan-02-2004 13:47:

that wasn't the speakers burning dude, it was the sparklers that random gurners lit up

Posted by Antistatic on Jan-02-2004 13:50:

Yeah what the fuck is with gurners bringing sparklers into Metros for events like Godskitchen? Isn't that a fire hazard?

Posted by Huebor on Jan-02-2004 13:50:

oh yeh, and i was told the problem with the gear etc was due to a cable not being brought over from melbourne .. (don't quote me on this as i didn't hear this straight from the mans mouth!)

they improvised something and hence there were a few problems, i doubt the speakers were going to bust .. the cutouts etc were from the laptop -> sequencer ..

ahh well, at least he wasn't doing a fake live set like some artists have been known to do over here

because its cool.

i loved cj bolland live, he was on at welcome 2003, it was great! especially when he played 'the prophet', inacoma and i were yelling it out for ages and then went nuts when he did it, had an mc singing the words too

but tiesto!
omg
hehe im still buzzing about it

Posted by leet123 on Jan-03-2004 00:53:

Man, it was worth %55 just for tiesto! He was awesome! I dont think i have danced so much in my life! I wasnt paying huge attention to mixing etc, but I liked most of the tracks he played. I almost lost the plot when he played flight 643, it was just magik!

It has to go down as one of my fav sets ever. Right next to the set he played at TT02. Anyone who missed out, YOU REALLY MISSED OUT!

Posted by Boredom on Jan-03-2004 04:37:

congrats to adam kelly for really firing things up... lucky for tiesto he didnt disappoint after that great warm-up

looking forward to the same for Armin.

6hrs of armin yeahh!!

Posted by escee on Jan-03-2004 04:43:

yeah, adam kelly's set was really good, one of perths best djs imo.

Posted by Antistatic on Jan-03-2004 04:51:

Yeah definitely. Should have ranked much higher than 49 in the Aus top 50 DJ poll.

That explains it! There was a shitload of them. You gotta watch those things as one of my friends at a previous event managed to get a chemical burn across his arm from a random gurner waving one about
Gurners + sparklers = bad idea

I think its because Adam Kelly doesnt do many gigs over in the eastern states, hence that ITM poll is significantly biased towards fairly ordinary eastern state deejays of the calibure of Bexta, Midro, etc...

it was a problem with his laptop .. hence shorter set and problems .. thats the official word.. explains it all tho excellent set even with these problems!!

Agreed.

Pity Kenny L didn't have the same difficulties that CJ had with his microphone

Posted by novastorm on Jan-04-2004 12:42:

i was so impressed with Tiesto! didnt dare hope he would be as great as he was but he really seemed to know what the crowd were wanting. massive tunes included
Skin - Faithfulness (tiesto mix)
Relocate - Waterfall
Andain - Beautiful Things
Mind One - Star for Me (vocal mix) << biggest of the night for me!

he also played his awesome remix of Radiohead - Street Spirit .. plus there was this HUGE tune i remember going insane to, big and waily and pounding and just massive, im not sure if that was street spirit tho, my memories are too disjointed to try and put the two together

all round a great night, even if it did end up blurring together.. eeep =/ better than tiesto at TT'02 but not as great as AvB at TT'03.

bring on AvB for six hours!!

how did you come up with this?!

Tiesto at tt02 is my best night out ever, it was awesome. Anyone else agree with novastorm?

holy shit I can't believe I forgot he played that (actually it doesn't surprise me much )! I went fucking mental to that!

Rows of houses all bearing down on me
I can feel their blue hands touching me
All these things in all positions
All these things will one day take control
And fade out again and fade out

This machine will will not communicate these thoughts
And the strain I am under
Be a world child form a circle before we all go under
And fade out again and fade out again

Cracked eggs dead birds
Scream as they fight for life
I can feel death can see its beady eyes
All these things into frution
All these things well one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out again.

Tiesto was awesome!!! Glad i got to see him at last.Missed him by a wk last time he was in aus.
Does anyone know what the 1st track was he played?

Posted by Breeze on Jan-04-2004 18:23:

Tiesto still rocks , it was good to hear alot of banging tracks alot of stuff i never heard of before.Tiesto is far superior to young Armin.(the guy that playes uplifting track after uplifting track, see how he goes in his six hour set soon) Cj bolland was shit to me, put me to sleep.

Tiesto should of played on the outside arena while the sun was going down that would of been mint. Respect to Adam Kelly.

Posted by leet123 on Jan-05-2004 00:12:

Yeah, the outdoorr arena woulda been cool, but the elektric tent was still cool.

2 of my friends got the tiesto shirts we nade signed by the man himself..... I think im gonna have to steal one of them.

Posted by A.J. on Jan-05-2004 01:35:
