Satan (eek!) Visitor In the Dark - a nightmare I just had

Damn, I can't go to sleep cause of this... ended about an hour ago.

I find myself awake(or so I thought)face up in my bed, arms crossed across chest, hands on opposite shoulder. It is dark but not pitch black and I hear the door open and close. I catch a glimpse of a tall, skinny, all black human like figure coming towards my bed. Suddenly, I feel a pressing sensation on top of me, as if someone is trying to press me into the bed. I try to fight back but for some reason, my arms are locked in their position. The being on top of me continues on, it seems with every breath he takes, his chest gets bigger and he pushes me further into my bed. The being seems like he is just laying flat on top of me, his chest where my chest is and his arms are both sides of my head, each hand pushing into my pillow. I try to make out a face but I see nothing but a pitch black shape.

The being continues to bear down on me. I have trouble breathing at this point and want to get this ****** off of me. For some reason, I can't scream or yell for help at all. I kept thinking through my head, 'I'm not going to die like this' I've heard stories of people dying in their sleep and at this point I had realize it was a nightmare that I couldn't wake up out of(no matter how hard I tried). So after struggling for a few seconds, I get one of my hands free and start to pull back my cover and think I'm going to knock this bitch off me. But no, he grabs my freed hand quickly, puts it back on my shoulder and reaches into a cup(which he was holding in his other hand?)and sprinkles some bitter tasting powder into my mouth. I start feeling dizzy instantaneously and my reactions slow down... I'm thinking, 'This is it. It's over' and the being presses down on me even harder. I start wheezing.

Just as I think it's about over(for me), the being gets off of me, walks over to the door and stops there long enough to speak to me. In a raspy low voice, he says... "You either have a cube or a savior." Door opens up and he walks out. Door shuts and I awake.

My arms free and the door in the nightmare is exactly where my closet is. I turn on the light, find a pen, and jot this stuff down as if to not forget it in detail.

The reason I'm telling you all this is because I know for a fact this is not an isolated dream. I've heard similar stories of figures in the night that come on and sit or lay on the chests of men, making it hard for them to breath. I am also an asian american and I remember reading somewhere that it is a common dream for asian men to have it(something in our diets-but I've been eating tons of American foods[especially fast food]lately... though I did have some Chinese food at a buffet restaurant on New Year's eve). One of my cousins, my dad and my uncle have admitted to having these visitors in the night... my dad has had several, although the last one was 5-6 years ago.

Also, weren't their similar dreams like this during the middle ages in Europe? I remember seeing a drawing in a book about some gargoyle looking monster sitting on a sleeping knight's chest and some text about trouble breathing and nightmares.

If anyone can help me with more info or have had similar experiences(or know someone that has), please post here. I want to know what is causing this and perhaps eliminate it from my sleep. Thanks.

i don't have similar experiences, but here are the things that might help:

not being able to yell or move is a HUGE clue that it's a dream
once you realize that it's a dream, you must understand that you have complete control. all you have to do is like imagine your personal tiger tearing that guy apart, and it will happen. anything you can imagine will take place. it's called lucid dreaming and it's pretty common.

It sounds very similar to sleep paralysis. Although you say it is a dream and not real which is interesting. The black figure sitting at the end of your bed and pressing down on your chest are classic signs. It is also known as 'Old Hag Syndrome' so do a seach on it in google. It happens to a lot of people apparenty, but i have never had it phew.

Hope that is of some help!

That's what I've found, looks like what you were talking about.

one two, freddy's coming for you, three four, you better shut the door....

Yep, that's almost certainly sleep paralysis. The immobility, inability to breathe and awareness of someone (or something?) else in the room are all tell-tale symptoms.

I've had it a couple of times in my life, but only once where I've hallucinated like that. I'll elaborate later on (time for bed).

Is this what you saw?

Then check out this movie:

A lot of people associate the experience you described with that of an alien abduction. I dunno if you believe in aliens, but lots of people feel the paralising effects you felt when they've had "abduction experiences". Especially fits in with this black figure of yours. Creepy.

i had similar "dreams" and so has my dad. He went to the doctor to see if he was going crazy and the doctor said it's a combination of low blood pressure as you sleep and a mild temporary psychological thing that causes people to imagine what's been called "shadow people"

I had a similar dream just a few days ago...I fell asleep in an armchair and when I woke up I saw some guy that looked like that Jesus figure pic which I saw on this board a few times, but he was kinda angry. He held my hands so that I couldn't move them. I realized it was a dream and attempted to move my arms and managed to do so quite easily. Then I woke up. But there was the sinister presence feeling around at the time. Jesus is evil, I'm telling you!

Thanks for the links. Those helped out a lot and I'm sure that's what I experienced. I think my problem is that I don't get enough sleep(some nights only 3-4 hours).

As for the alien thing, I pushed it out of my head immediately(during the dream)and knew that if it really was an abduction(real or not), it probably wouldn't have played out like that.

If any of you seen the Pang brothers horror movie, The Eye, then the figure I saw looked exactly like the ones in that movie that meant death was coming. It just felt full of evil and its breath was hot(so was the entire room).

I think the mind tries to put in the dream what it thinks you fear the most and during the middle ages, they had stories of trolls, goblins, and witches. Modern days, thanks to the movies, we have a totally different mindset of what true evil really is.

My sister also said maybe what the figure said(at the end of the dream)to me was actually "You have cued a savior," not "You either have a cube or a savior"... which makes more sense to me; but it really bothers me that it would say that.

Oh yeah, in the dream, the door the figure came in and out of is the closet in my real room.

You answered you're own question. I wouldn't be suprised if I had a dream similar to the one you describe sometime in the future now that i've heard about the whole thing in this thread.

I've been having very strange dreams myself over the past couple of days. Not exactly nightmares, but all of them were about unpleasent things happening to me.

The first two I had were yesterday.

I recently got hit my a motorcycle while crossing the road from work, which caused me to have a blood-clot on my brain.

Anyway In this dream because of my injury I had to wear a hat, like a hard policemans hat, but with a wolly hat over the top and I had to carry a huge sac around with me.

I was walking around town wearing the hat, with the sac in my hand, and I went into my bank. Instead of withdrawing money I put 1 into a machine, this machine then flashed up four questions. A man of around my age who worked there then came up to me and said it was number four, so I pressed the button and 5 came out a slot by the side of the wall. The man then pushed the machine infront of the slot so I couldn't play again. I tried again, but the man noticed me and threw me out of the bank.

I had to make some more money somehow, so I decided to go to bowling, where I knew there would be gambling machines and money change machines to change my fiver. For some reason I didn't go that way though and ended up walking down the wrong street. I then noticed a smart looking shop with cream coloured walls called "Synth Pads". I thought I bet I can make some money in here, then I noticed that it was a hairdressers shop.

I then went into the main shopping mall in my town and headed for the toilets. I didn't like wearing the hat at this point so I took it off. I then went up a corridor to the mens, when I noticed my dad standing there with some other people from my family that I can't remember. He shouted at me for not wearing the hat, I then snapped back at him telling him that I could do what I liked. I the headed the other way back down the corridor to a toilet door at the end. I opened it slightly and saw a bar of a metal object, a nasty smell came rushing out and I felt fear from this room, so I closed it and went into the other toilet door on the left.

I went into the end cubicle and the cubicle turned 90 degrees left, although I didn't notice it. My door was open and two people sat down on the floor infront of me outside of the cubicle, I noticed 1 by infront of them and decided to get it. Once I picked it up it turned in a drinking flask, it was made of sponge with brown leather covering it.

I headed down another street, by this time it was dark and misty, the road had tuned to victorian-style cobbles then I noticed an old man with dirty long hair on a tall bicycle with a woman infront screaming. He kept hitting her down with on his bicycle. I walked past not taking any notice when I thought what if he is going to target me now I have walked past? I heard him behind me laughing, then he hit me down from behind. This is where I woke up.

30 Minutes later I fell back asleep.

This time I had to go to a meeting for American supporters of the Labour party (a political party in the UK) The meeting was about what rights Americans would have with Labour. The meeting was set in my town like the previous dream. There wasn't any americans who went to the meeting however, they were all British and they were all round my age (15-19).

We dedided to walk home together when some of them turned nasty towards me. We were underneath a traffic flyover which I pass on my way to work, when one of them pushed me down. I asked him what he did it for, but he just stared at me. When I got up one of the girls looked at me in disgust and said "whats up with your face" I asked her what she meant, but she just carried on looking in disgust at me and laughed to one of her mates.

We were then walking down the street where my old house was, I was infront and everyone else started poking and pinching me. When I eventually got to my old house I went down the side-entrance to my current house which was on this street to the back garden. The main leader of the gang followed me grinning. I knew he wouldn't follow me all the way into my house, but I felt I couldn't just stand there looking weak, so I turned round and said "get the fuck outta my house". He then crossed his arms and walked out backwards grinning all the time. I walked inside and noticed that my mum had left me a slice of pizza and a jacket potato on the cooker. I slumped anainst the wall feeling drained and depressed, this is where I woke up.

While writing this I've noticed that in both dreams I was hit over and both were in my town. Can anybody interpret what this means?
