hate life
how many people out there really hate life? i mean really hate it! These past couple of days i have been looking back at my entire life and i have realized that i have been a disturbed individual my entire life.Even as a child i can remember being depressed and having fucked up thoughts in life.I have always been told when im depressed that dont worry things will get better.well, things have not gotten better and i dont have a lot in life to live for.I have been in and out of the hospital for depression over the past few years and im looking at myself wondering if i will ever live a normal life.Im wondering if i will ever be able to get a woman with my fucked up mind to keep me from being so lonely.I am starting to get really scared of myself, thinking that one day im gonna snap and hurt someone or myself.Sometime i feel as if im gonna be one of those people that u read about who went nuts and started shooting people.I dont even know y i am writing this post but i just hope to live to see my 24th birthday cause lately i have given up on life.
I know it's not easy to do this but ask yourself why you're so sad. If you can't seem to find an answer, chances are it's something chemical/hormonal. Healing won't come just from medicine: if you don't want to get better, you won't get better, full stop. And this will count as an answer, which leads us to the next paragraph.
If you do find an answer (or more), focus on them. Remember that you control what you feel. If you're always in a dark room, feeling sad and bitter, you'll attract this "darkness and sadness" to you. If you go out, talk to people, work out, you'll be experiencing new things, that you wouldn't be able to feel on your own. Try to incorporate all these new thoughts to yourself. Think of all the good things you have:
1) You have a computer: how many people out there have the opportunity to use this technology? To be enjoying the best science can offer.
2) You have food: You could be starving right now, but you're not.
3) You can read: Think of all those who taught you. They spend their time so you could grow, Neo. Thanks to what you learned from teachers, parents and friends, you're now more intelligent.
4) You're not alone: All right, this is just an internet community, but I remember you once posted a suicide thread and you had ALL of us worried about you, because we cared. We may have never seen you in person, but we read your words, we get to know who you are, and we won't let you give up that easy.
... I could go on and on.
Also you're going to die someday anyway, why would you kill yourself? Doing so will prevent you from knowing what would happen if you stayed alive. If death is better than life, there's no hurry, you can't avoid it anyway. If life is better than death, you'd better enjoy while you can.
I don't think it's a matter of hating life, but rather hating the type of society we all have to face each day...
I feel off and on depressed sometimes - most teenagers do im sure....
you may not think so but im sure there are are lots of people that care about you & love you.
and whatever you do dont commit suicide, its the cowards way out and "Also you're going to die someday anyway, why would you kill yourself? Doing so will prevent you from knowing what would happen if you stayed alive. If death is better than life, there's no hurry, you can't avoid it anyway. If life is better than death, you'd better enjoy while you can."
if you need people to talk to im sure there are many people on the boards here who would be glad to do so
been to therapy? if not, go, and actually give it a chance.
well, to put it simply, being happy feels better than being sad.
so be happy!

shad0wmaster...i hope some day you'll realize the ridiculousness of that statement, or that you'll read or observe life enough to see the bigger picture, bigger than t.v. and social pressures

I think that everybody no matter what should enjoy life and have fun. I have lost 3 friends my age, and I am only 16. I think you should feel blessed to be healthy and be happy you are living. Just enjoy life!

well... i could say a lot... but i'll keep it short:
1. self-control
2. enjoy the things you like
3. Telepopmusik - Breathe
if you focus on the bad things, of course you're gonna think life is shitty.
depression is a state of mind and feelings, it may be that you hate your society and the ppl around you, you cannot express these emtions or actions towards them so your inner feeling does gets ' depressed. some ppl turn to drugs and some ppl turn to suicide and it really is a shame, i think a lot of ppl think there depressed but deep down there are fine, maybe they are bored of there life style, as an inactive mind causes the body to feel unwanted, eating and drinking sometimes gets out of control as the mind needs food to stimulate your actions, to put it all in a nut shell i would advise your self to break away for a few hours a week and chill out, make a list of the top 20 things that pisses you off and advoid them, take a walk one early moring and try and feel better about yourself, maybe relaxation kit, trance music is a good source for stimulating the brain. aslong as it is different, money & time is not important in this world, just happiness and love.
w0rd 0ut.
Hey don't have time for a proper answer but thought I'd chime in with what advice I can:
1) Everyone, without exception, is fucked in the head in some way.
2) Life is good. If you don't like the way you're living it is in your hands to change that... generally speaking shit like that doesn't get better by itself. Instead of getting into the state where you think about all the bad shit that goes on in your life, and what you have failed to achieve, think about what you can still achieve (you're young, so its a hell of a lot, believe me). You've got your whole life ahead of you, and what you achieve in that time is up to you! Set yourself some long term goals, break them up into short-term goals and schedule them over certain dates, so you know exactly what you have to do each day to get closer to completing your goals.
3) Take up a sport (I know I say this to every depressed person, but I think its true)... you won't believe how much of a difference it can make in some cases. Martial arts are good.
Well that's my $0.02.
Hope your outlook improves.
Ok, you have to realize that you are the one who controls your life. Every situation you are in, every feeling that you have is a direct result of you ractions. Start feeling comfortable with yourself. If you're scared of yourself and worried about what others think of you, it will get you nowhere. Anyway, if you want to get a girlfriend, you are the one who has to do it. If you're scared of talking to them in real life, get icq or something like that and try talking to them there. Even if you don't do anything, just having your icq turned on will certainly result in a few girls contacting you. Now, when you talk to girls, think positive. If you start talking to them about how life sucks, you will get their pity but not their affection. At best you might get the affection of another depressive girl, but that's not quite the best thing for you. Anyway once you get the girl, you probably won't be that depressed anymore, because it seems to me you desperately want one. If you're confused about making the first physical contact with girls, get yourself a hooker or something, they'll certainly break the ice for you
. Besides, you're only 24. People often get married in their 50s. If you think your life is boring, then ask yourself what you should do to make it less boring. I'm certain you could come up with lots of things to solve that problem. Once you do that, it only takes a little bravery to do what you want, regardless of how retarded it might be. If you consider the alternative - being depressed and bored - then it is certainly worth the risk. Get involved in outdoor physical activity, sitting at home won't help you. Preferrably get into some organization where you will be forced to make contact with other people. Go rock climbing, bungee jumping, base jumping, or some other extreme sport. Extreme sports are very good for curing depression, because they get your adrenaline high and make you see how you can easily die even when you don't want it.
Anyway, to put it in short, become more active, go out, do crazy things and you'll be happier.
Life is easy. And if yours isnt..
QUIT WHINING!
solutions:
1) get drunk (temporary)
2) you can change your inside slowly if you act happy even if ur not
3) if 2) doesnt make sense it will later if you dont think about it and just do it
4) ud be surprised how just a small 'i want to be happy' whisper to yourself every night before sleep can work wonders
5) get a chick. even if u dont like her. chicks take ur time, ur money, and bitch at you if you dont treat them right everyday. it (yes it, not her) wastes ur time very well. but ull have good times which will gradually help.
6) and then get drunk again

Do I remember you posting something like this before, Neo?? I guess things haven't got much better. I think you should re-read some of the advive given in the other thread (Click here). Maybe some of the advice will apply to your situation more now than it did then.
If things don't work out, I'd definately seek professional help. Hope things turn out OK for ya.

Just think of those little people on their music machines working hard away just to bring you your trance and make you feel happier. If your dead you can't any longer enjoy trance noo.
Life can't always be good, and it can't always be bad.
That's a quote you should always remember in your head.
Sometimes people suffer from the most rougest, and toughest situations. However, this is only a temporary thing that can easily be disposed by the good things in life, taken by the many points of the previous posts above.
So enjoy life, I know some of us can't compare through the depression as much as you have, but you know that we all have experienced it and we do our best to make rid of it.
It also may sound "too easy" to just become happy, from all the depression you have suffered. The point is, staying depressed is no cure, turn up them speakers, have a good conversation, and enjoy life as it slowly becomes better.
Time is the healer, as the song itself says.
I hope you feel better, regards m8.

I've learned from personal experience that, with a few exceptions, the people with whom you associate are both a reflection and source of your personal self.
It's a cycle. If you're confident and happy, you'll attract people who are also confident and happy and they can pick you up when you're feeling down. If you're sad and lonely and depressed, you'll end up with friends that are sad and lonely and depressed who drag you down with them whenever you finally get better.
Moral of the story: moods are contagious. Don't hang around people who will bring you down. And if you can't find anyone else to hang out with, then do things alone, like work out, run, cook, etc. Computer games or posting on TA aren't great ideas, you need to move around and get a change of scenery, otherwise you'll get cabin fever.
I've had to deal with many difficult times, some recently, and even though all I feel like doing is sitting on my ass, I know that the only thing that will help me is to get off my ass.
If it's a constant depression, you'd best stay away from alcohol, cigarettes, and any other drug as a form of escape. They're great for isolated incidences when you're having a shitty day, but you don't want to develop a substance problem by depending on it.
