Last year around 10 to 15 thousand went to support the electronic music scene...............

I'm goin without question... it's a free event and it's for a good cause. I usually do drugs when i go to parties, but for this one, even though the line-up is wicked and i would feel amazin messed up too.. i'm goin completely sober for the full event, cause it's not about the music and drugs, it's about the music only and that's the way i'm gonna treat it.

Yeah ima be there fer sure...and of course ima be sober..cause thats the way I always go..

OK so I just re-read your whole post..and it bothers me that you are just going to idance sobre because its about the music and not the drugs..well WTF , how about all the other parties you went to..they weren't about the music????..like seriously...ravah whatevah...some people....

lol... wtf are you talkin about??? When did i ever say it wasn't about the music????? It's always about he music, i've gone sober to parties lots of times. This is a special event(and if you can't tell the difference between this event and every other event then YOu obviously have done to many drugs) and i'm not gonna treat it likes it's some weekly event... so by that i'm gonna be as positive as i can by not doin drugs there at all... if i want to do some i'll do it after. What i meant was it's not about the combination of Drugs and music, it's only about one thing ....the music ... this goes for all the parties in the scene (what's so hard to understand about that???)

Last year's iDance

Wasn't last year's iDance about showing Mel Lastman that raves aren't about the drugs? I believe that last year a few people Overdosed on drugs at the iDance, and therefore proving Mel's point that kids under 19 going to rave don't know how to handle themselves. One E is all you need people!

Actually, last year was a success with no overdoses...

Idance is to show our Unity in this scene, and that they can't take certain freedoms away from us. We're rallying so against laws like no dancing after a certain time at any place where loud electronic music is being played. It's for all politics to understand that the rave scene is here to stay, and that we are poeple who vote for elections and all that crap and demand respect. It's to show that the scene isn't about drugs and that there's no guns and crap like that that the media tries to make it out to be. It's also a rally for other rave communities in other cities in America that are having problems with their politicians tryin to ban raves.

What I said about people overdosing is the truth. Also a few people got busted for possession. Please don�t feed me bullshit about it only being about the music. From my experience, I�ve always preferred being at a rave or a club drugged. I�ve been at clubs sober. Does it suck? Hell yes! It�s the ideal music for taking drugs and enjoying oneself. It�s like your telling me that you go to your local pub to drink coke, because it�s not about drinking but enjoying the hard rock music! The majority of the people at these events are all fucked! I love the music. It�s pretty much all I listen to. But clubs and drugs mix too well together.

well said Noise!!!! It does suck when you go to a rave sober. You try be at a rave sober for like 8 hours and see what it feels like! The music and the drugs just go well together.

If this had said "isn't just about drug's" I think it would be clearer a least that's the way I read it......I have friends who never go to clubs or parties and they think that the only reason I go is to do E...these are the same people who sit around and watch movies and pop some shroom's.

Oh well they will never understand because they don't care about the music the way I do but i wish they'd understand that the tunes come first I don't just listen when I go to the club. It's in my car,on my stereo, it wakes my ass up in the morn....

Hell talk about drugs and music when I was 15 I went to see Steve Miller(don't ask) at canadas wonderland and the amount of weed in the place was incredible but it just went hand and hand....or should i say hand to hand ..hehehe

i don't know about you, but i can rave sober and have a good time, but i prefer to get fucked up instead (most of the time, but not always). As far raves sucking when your sober, i can't agree with that, the only reason why it would suck for me is if the dj's spinning that night sucked hardcore.

I agree even though E has been so cemented in the rave culture, for a lot of people (myself included) the music has always come first. I mean i do enjoy going to raves and get all messed up and stuff but i don't abuse it. The music and meeting new people should always come first. That's why we are in these forums and found this great site. For me there's nothing more gratifying than finding a great new house/trance track or hearing a great tune from a club and finally getting my grubby hands on it.

My first experience at a rave was fantastic, it was nothing like what i had thought it to be. I had the best time of my life and i just popped a half of a teensy weensy pill I find it sad that a lot of people look down upon raves and don't really understand what it is all about. It's also sad to see people going to parties just to get high also. The music and the people should ALWAYS come first, and then you will find you will have a much better time.

Yes! The music definitely out weights the drugs. You could take really good drugs and still have a lame time. I went to Guy Ornadel, I thought the set was ok. I found allot of unnecessary aggressiveness and hackling of women from people who just �try too hard�.

hmmm .. yeah heh itz kinda nice u all talkin about this hefty subject like this .. itz the exact kinda discussion the iDance movement wants people to recognize ... the eternal battle between drugs vs. no-drugs at raves & clubs.

Personally I don't promote drug use at raves and I'm proud to say that I've never done any (ever) in my whole life partying at clubs or raves. Unfortunately I can't say the same for my friends whom I go with, but hey it's their choice and who am I to tell them otherwise. Atleast I know that I can keep an eye on them in the case something serious happens I'd be able to help them out. (Sort of like a designated driver). And i won't let them influence me into doing so. All I am saying is that, hey if you wanna do drugs that's fine, just don't be an idiot by OD'ing and fucking it up for other people like me who enjoy it purely for the music. (I won't look at you in any lesser way, incase u are one of those ppl who has to dose at a party). People are always gonna drink and drive ... so you don't outlaw driving, but at the same time u can drink responsibly right?

Sometimes it makes you wonder, do people get into the scene cuz of the music or the drugs. I was listening to the music since I was in 7th grade so I know how i got in...

If iDance needs someone who they can show that it's still POSSIBLE to party without drugs, then I'm proud to say that I'm living proof. How many more of us are there out there ?
