2003-01-15 :: Prognosis :: New Bi-Monthly Night, No Cover, Drink Specials

Well, some of you know I've been talking about organizing an event for quite some time now. And here we are, it's finally come to fruition. I'm happy to present, with a few other people, a new bimonthly event :: Prognosis.

January 15th, Opening Night

10:00pm - 4:00am
FreightNYC
410 West 16th Street (b/t 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue, LOOK UP FOR THE FREIGHT SIGN--past the 1st 410 address)
NO COVER, and drink specials all nite
21+ (sorry I wish this didn't have to be, but the venue requires it)

PLEASE be there. This is opening night, and if we don't get a good turnout, we may not be able to make this a regular event. I'm asking for all your support in pulling this off, as this is gonna be a big one. If we get a good enough turnout, this *will* become a bi-monthly event where we can showcase a lot of local talent.

I know, guys, I'm reeeeeeally sorry about this fact, but the venue won't allow us to do an 18 to enter/21 to drink. I tried to even convince them to let us pay for the wristbands, and they wouldn't go for it. If this venue doesn't work out and we have to look for another at any point, I will do my best to accomodate... the problem is a lot of the smaller venues around here need to limit it so they aren't filled with people who can't drink, because that's the only way they make their money. :-\

I think the NYTA forum needs a house ID purveyor. heheheh

Thanks for all the support, guys. Been really busy trying to put this together, so I really hope it goes off well. I'll probably be playing somewhere around 1ish or so, depending on exactly what we decide. Either way, I'm really looking forward to it. I just hope we can get enough people through the doors.

Ahh, so many Family Guy quotes come to mind... but I'll be nice, instead.

On a positive note, there isn't any cover at all, so even if you can only stop by for an hour or two, still show up. Can't hurt. And it'd be a big help for us. Especially if you bought a couple drinks, got loaded, and decided to stay later.
