hi!!
I'm going to Boston next month,,,,, the problem is that I don't know anybody there........I will really like to be in contact with some people before i get there.

When i get there I wanna go to see some Dj's .Here in my country is very difficult to have the oportunity.........so I'm really looking forward to go.

j/k,... he gives the best tours of Boston, he showed me every butt hole crack of that city and i only saw him the last day i was up there.... and see Avalon!-(i'm still kicking myself that i wasnt up there for a show,grrr)

I'm from Colombia........ Medellin.

In my city there is not a place where you can listen to trance ,,,,,,,in here is all techno(I don't like it to much) and House.

I really dream about going to see PVD.. I hope I can do it.

they suggested afterhours because all bars and clubs in boston shutdown at 2 AM by law...

Avalon is the best chance for you to find a DJ you might want to see. but if you really want to enjoy yourself, boston has buses that leave every hour to new york city for $10, chinatown to chinatown in 4 hrs. make use of it! boston is fun, but new york city is BETTER, especially for clubbing

Like the others said, definately check out Avalon, it's a nice club. They've had some really good Djs. John '00'Fleming is going to spin there on the 16th and he's very good. And if you want to see PvD like you said, he's playing Roxy in NYC on Feb21st and the day before, the 20th, at Avalon, Boston. I might go to both shows

There is no more afterhours..if you are thinking of the diplomat. No afterhours in saugus..Clubs can only be opened now "afterhours" if they start the night before 2am then they can go to 6 in the morning. I doubt any club in boston will later then 2 unless it is a speical night like new years. Dj Adilsion will run out of Tracks to play at Matrix.

its not a boring place, but in terms of the trance/house party scene, it is limited, compared with NYC....there are clubs (la boom, pravda, venu, aria, roxy, vertigo) that have some good local djs spinning alot of house and prog and some trance, however those clubs are 21+ for the most part, and the crowd is filled with alot of attitude, the ppl there are there for the pick-up scene, not really to follow the music, altho its not always like that... avalon and axis, both on landsdowne street, are the only places where you will see global-scale djs coming thru...if you have a car, therapy in providence, only 45 minutes south of boston, has a cool vibe afterhours, opening at 1 or 2am, closing around 8am....therapy has one of the best sound systems in the country infact....most recently the "low end specialists" were there, i heard it was an awesome night...so def check out therapy if you have a chance...as someone had mentioned above, buses are cheap to NYC, and thats where its at
