Judge Jules
Serioues / BBC One - UK

Regarded as one of the most legendary figures and icons of the UK dance scene, Jules makes his first Edmonton appearance on January 29th at Escape Ultra Lounge. Few DJs possess such a history, from his roots in the mid-80's house movement, to becoming a legend in the late 80s-early 90s epic UK rave scene to his position as one of the most desired and popular UK megaclub DJs today. Jules is DJ Magazine ranked #9 in the world this year, and always a consistent top 10 over the last decade, has many Ministry of Sound releases to his name, and the envied position as leading resident for Gatecrasher and Golden. Tickets for this thursdays event are selling fast! The club is brand new, and it's the United 2004 KICK Off Event featuring Judge Jules. Definately going to be a gong show. We can't claim that this will be the party of the year... because we have many more in store for Edmonton, and each one MUST be better then the last.

Play times are as follows:

9:00 - 10:00 :: David Stone
10:00 - 11:00 :: Neal K
11:00 - 12:30 :: Neal K vs David Stone
12:30 - 02:30 :: Judge Jules

Make sure you come early to catch Dave and Neal K! For some people, this is as big as the Judge himself. I know the entire crew at United are looking forward to the tag, as well as the individual sets.

Tickets @ Sunkissed, Underground, Colorblind, Foosh, and Ticketmaster.

Records packed, Judge Jules has set his eyes on Edmonton. Leaving the UK today to fly over seas for his first visit to Alberta's capital city. Judge Jules arrives in Edmonton on January 29th to perform and thaw all chilling thoughts of Edmonton's recently frigid cold weather. Escape Ultra Lounge has assured us that no one will have to wait outside in the cold weather to hear the sounds of the Judge. So take off your boots... put on your dancing shoes... it's time for another United Event.

For anyone who hasn't got their tickets yet for the Judge, United is selling them in HUB mall at the University for $15 no other charges. They said they will be there today (wednesday) and tomorrow (thursday.) They have a booth setup half way down hub mall. You can't miss it.

Also they said that they aren't looking to bring Tiesto back.... It's someone else.
hint: I still feel you beneath my skin I am tempted to throw my self to sea.

Count me and BryZe in. I was at Foosh today buying some vinyls and I was talking to Neal who will be opening tomorrow and he was going through classics looking for some euphoric stuff to play. He mentioned he was going to be bringing Flaming June, possibly L'esperanza, he was listening to some push from a few years back at the store so it looks as though were going to hear a few classics in the warmup set.

Can't wait for tomorrow.

Jason

He's got some gooders.

Yeah, about the records. In the past he mentioned a bunch of old trance he had. I know that he was being borrowed some records as well but I didn't feel that it was necessary to say so. Now that I know you're on the board I should have said that you borrowed some to him since some people on the board probably know who you are.

Cheers.

It is the old Nashville's in West Edmonton Mall. Go on 87 Ave and go upstairs... it is between Rum and The Joint/Reds. Only entrance is from outside.

THE JUDGE WONT BUDGE

Posted by j_spot on Jan-31-2004 16:40:

so how did it go????

Posted by physe on Jan-31-2004 19:03:

Haha, it's being rescheduled. His flight didn't make it in because of the weather. For the whole night the openers played. They brought all of their old trance records so it was kind of fun hearing all of those classics again, especially in a club because I was underage at the time that those classics were new. CtR I'm sure will let everyone know when the makeup date is once it's announced.

As for what the other guys played:

Chicane - Don't give up (Disco Citizens mix)
Olive - you're not alone
Kosheen - Hide you
Tiesto - Flight 643
Delerium - Slience (Tiesto's in Search of Sunrise Mix)
Paul van Dyk - Time of our Lives (PvD club mix)
Paul van Dyk - For an Angel
Andy Ling - Fixation
Push - Universal Nation
Aurora - I can Hear you Calling
Moby - Why does my Heart Feel so Bad
Coldplay - Clocks
Ferry Corsten - Punk
Bedrock - Heaven Scent
Tomcraft - Lonliness
Pulser - Cloudwalking
Robert Miles - Children
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Binary Finary - 1999 (Matt Darey Mix)
Three Drives on a Vinyl - Greece 2000
Willian Orbit - Barber's Adagio for Strings (Ferry Corsten Mix)
Dave Gahan - Dirty Sticky Floors (JXL mix)

There were many more but those are the ones I can remember at the moment. I'll update the list when more come to mind.

Cheers.
