Trance Energy 2004 [english laungauge]

Hello fellow trance-addicts! [Please respond in english! Thanks]

I would like to ask those of you in the Netherlands about trance energy 2004. I have heard sets from 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003. I have seen a video of 2001. From what I have seen and heard, it looks like a great party. Some other people in the forums have mixed feelings. I am very excited about the HardStage this year, and I have wanted to go for several years.

I am located in Colorado, USA. I am 21 years old (male), and I have been to Amsterdam once before. I am thinking of travelling ALONE to go to the trance energy party. I do not know anyone in Holland, I do not speak dutch. Is this crazy to go alone? If I show up at the party, do you think that I can make friends easily? (and not be an annoying american) I really want to go, but nobody I know in the U.S. can attend. I am a bit scared to show up to trance energy alone, and it would not be fun if I could not share the experience with other people...

1)So, am I crazy to go alone?

2)Can I meet people who speak english easily?

3)Is it worth it, since I like tech-trance and hard-trance? (trance energy vs. other parties)

Any help would be very appreciated!!!

Thanks!

First of all, check this thread: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...&threadid=52117
Thats the thread for foreign members in Holland.

1) Crazy? No. But i wouldnt go alone. Dont know if you make friends easily....

2) Everyone in Holland speaks English

3) Jeah think you'll enjoy, but the trance played there is maybe a bit too cheesy

As Snuggele said, I don''t think it is your style of music. And why trance energy? therer are so much better party's!

Thanks for the help.

I was just amazed by the videos of trance energy, but I think my style is more along the lines of sensation black...

As for the other parties, I would MUCH rather go to underground stuff, but when planning for a plane flight, dates, etc, the fact that I am not plugged into the scene can make problems, hence the desire for a massive.

Although I am fairly familiar with the scene out there, especially the major tech-trance DJ's, there is no way I can find good parties for the sound I like without recognizing the name on the headline
(kai tracid, marco v, don diablo, etc.)

I guess the only real solution is to wait until I am done w/school and stay for a summer, so that i can meet people, learn the scene, get good vinyl and go to good parties.

other than that, does anyone have any dj names or parties that you can think of off the top of your head, besisdes the massives, that are good for dirty tech-trance? (not so far as hardstyle, though)

thanks for your help, in the future, I will use the correct thread.

Well.. If you're attracted by the line-up, and you're willing to spend the money on it.. Why not?

You have read enough warnings about the kind of people attending the party, and of the Born Slippy-tricks of Gielen I guess, so if it still seems like a good party to you, why not?

I went to a party alone for the first time 1.5 months ago, where half the crowd didn't even understand what I was saying (my French is not that good), but I had a VERY nice evening and made friends with quite some people that didn't speak anything but French..

And if I can make friends like that, everyone can

I really must say I've already been to six editions and 'just keep going because of it's atmosphere.

Btw, this year for the music too, Ferry will undoubtly spin an amazing set.

Hi!
I have a question and hope you can help me. How do the Dutch handle the minimum age controls? I ask tha, because i'm 16 years old and allmost every party in Holland requires a minimum age of 18. Now I want to know, if there are controles on events like Te and other id&t events? I am from Kleve (kleef), thats a city verry close to the border, so I would easyly have the possibility to go to events in Holland!
Thanks and greetz
Blace

@ blace: it is possible to get in under the age of 18 (not officially though). For this it is, however, necessary that you LOOK a bit older then what you really are (how old do people estimate you in general? 17, 18, 20?). And IF you come make sure that you keep in mind that there is a possibillity that you will not get in. I saves alot of deceptions.

@ diggabyte: whether you will make friends at a party or not mainly depends on how you are. If you are the type of guy that talks alot to people, is cool, shows alot of enthousiasm and can be considered as not-annoying it is definately possible to make friends. As a matter of fact lots of people will find it extremely cool that you travelled all the way just to come to this party.
There is, however, one small problem: trance energy. Allthough you most certainly will have a good time there, the people who attend to this party are mainly (not all ofcourse) people who go to these parties for the first or second time and people who come in large groups. This sets you back a little when these people are placed in the first part I've written to you .
What I would do (if I really had the money for it) is that I would just come here in the summer. It can be said that basicly every weekend of the summer features a extremely nice and relaxing outdoor event. And not only in Holland ofcourse, but you could combine it with the loveparade for example . The only problem for this is that you might have to find a decent accommodation for those months... but atleast that would be worth the ticket ('cause paying a shitload of cash JUST to go to trance energy would not be my idea ).

p.s. you should ask jp (member here) about the underground in Amsterdam.. he seems to have some connections there .

exactly, there are so many better partys in holland and europe. If you spend this kind of money spend it on something good. For example:
Dancevalley,Mysteryland,Loveparade,Ibiza,Nature One,Lovefields,Extrema,Impulz Outdoor.

Thank you for the help. I know there are better ways to go about a good party. If I were to spend a summer there, it would be as a student, or possibly an intern (product design), so it does seem a bit much to travel for a single party, whether trance energy, or any other massive. The scene I know and love here is that of the underground, and although I am sure a massive in holland would be enjoyable, I would rather get plugged into scene... wouldn't you?

ik had me eigenlijk kandidaat moeten stellen he?
