knowing your tracks

k..I think that knowing my tracks is a great idea..then I know the builds, the drops, when would be a good time to mix all the other fun stuff.

so heres the question. If I wanted to rip from my vinyl to computer, how would I do so. first off I would plug it into my soundcard, but from where? the deck or the mixer? And is Cool Edit all I need to record it?

I wanna rip a track to share with all of u. Ive never heard anybody but me talk about it(Al Janaero-Energize) so I wanna up it to see what u think, cuz I love that crazy track!!!

Just plug your MIXER's line out to your sound card line in and record it...

you can also use steinberg's "Clean 2.0". let's you record and clean it of crackling and other noise. But Cool Edit will do.
What does this have to do with the thread title ?

This way I can listen to my vinyl when Im no where near a record player. When Im on the road, I cant be practising, so having my tracks on a CD makes life easy for me. I can learn the builds and stuff like that.
