Rollercoasters

I just got back from a week in Orlando and there were some pretty sweet rollercoasters there, my favourite being the deuling dragons (especially when seated at the front) but my all time favourite is Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park, that just rocks

isnt that the one thats the highest drop in the US?

Actually the top thrill dragster at Ceder Point is pretty much the highest everything in the world. The tallest, biggest drop, fastest speed. It looks wicked.

well they have a newer one that opened this summer I think it was that drops 400 feet straight down. Its called the Top Thrill Dragster. Although it was shut down most of the summer for being too dangerous, the cord that pulls the car broke on a run.

hehe I got my pic taken on that ride and the guy in front of me looks like he is getting possessed by a demon, kinda sweet.

the millenium force is only I think 310 feet. but it is so smooth and fast.

eh I think there is one in Japan that is taller. don't quote me on that though.

Last I heard they were making a 450foot one.

damn i wish they could make one closer to nyc only have great adventure its good but no coasters that have massive drops

Yeah, that one was the $hit, although when I went it was called "The Magnum".

My other faves:
-Montu - Busch Gardens Tampa
-The Viper - Darien Lake NY (I think its something diff now)
-The Bat - Canada's Wonderland (A long time ago, might be called something diff.)
-a stand-up rollercoaster at Canada's Wonderland (forgot the name)

Best rollercoaster ive been on is X at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA

holy shit, after riding it its like being reborn

Posted by mezzir on Jan-09-2004 03:19:

yes....millenium force IS THE SHIT
i had been on a wooden roller coaster twice, and never a metal one, then this summer by cousin took me to cedar point....HOLY CRAP it was amazing
went on i think 8 coasters over the course of the day, and a few other rides
millenium force - 307'-ish, almost 100mph, 81 degree incline
ITS NUTS

I dont think so. Check out www.rcdb.com , its a database of all the rollercoasters in the world. Top Thrill Dragster still has the record for tallest, biggest drop, and fastest. Steel Dragon 2k in japan does have the record for longest, however.

Posted by mets4012 on Jan-09-2004 06:11:

dammit why cant there be these huge coasters near ny this sucks u guys are lucky

aaah so it never got built. Sweet.

I have been on the tallest coaster EVAR!!!1111. I should find a scanner and show you guys the pic, teh kid in front of me is too funny.

Posted by mezzir on Jan-09-2004 13:50:

ehh....top thrill dragster isn't really a roller coaster IMO
its just a ride that happens to use a track and similar cars
and with that in mind, that one in japan's the tallest and millenium force's the second tallest if i remember right

Posted by BTG on Jan-09-2004 14:34:

i've been on a bunch, the best one i've been on was like 90 mph with an almost 90degree drop, and it was pretty fucking tall too.

it was in the states. I forget the name, so i suck.

Posted by Pheobius on Jan-09-2004 14:37:

i ahve to say i didn't really llike the hulk, i mean it went really fast but there was nothing that made it destinctive, like the dueling dragons were 'dueling', but i agree siperman ride does rock, although its not really what i would describe as a rollercoaster, it certainly did make really good use of the moving car and 3D screens

Posted by BTG on Jan-09-2004 14:44:

the "rock'n rollercoaster' (with areosmith) is a pretty decent ride. its all inside, and it goes pretty damn fast.
