i hated her for it. it's so fucking gay. its always about some little kid, who's gf broke up with him because he's a fag, and he can't get over it and he cries about it for 3 mins.

Posted by Essential1 on Jan-09-2004 01:16:

I'm usually fairly open minded when it comes to music, but i dunno, there's something about emo that just makes me violent.

Posted by tranceDJ on Jan-09-2004 01:29:

Definitely not, it's more along the lines of Something Corporate...Jack Johnston....etc

Anyone else notice how the punk genres typically do the same thing musically? As in root-(insert various chords)-root? It's annoying as fuck.

I was punk rock and then my girlfriend dumped me.

I fucking hate Emo. Thursday, Thrice, The Used, etc.

ARGH! FUCKING HATE IT!

I also make an attempt to be open to most music, but emo... I just fucking can't stand.

Posted by TranceXposure on Jan-09-2004 02:36:

I'm thinking that this is emo:

Converge, Poison the Well, The Early November, Hey Mercedes, Throwdown, The Beautiful Mistake, etc.

Don't listen to it tho...

good emo: brand new, the get up kids, third eye blind(not reeeeally emo, but then again when they were big emo didn't really exist as much), jimmy eat world (kinda), and the juliana theory
i'm a big fan of the last one

Would you guys classify "Radio" by Alkaline Trio 'emo' music? Or what is it? Someone tell me!

I DO like the song, too.

Posted by mezzir on Jan-09-2004 04:22:

never really heard their music, but heard from friends who like emo that they are

Posted by fuct4less on Jan-09-2004 05:22:

3. One to cry about it, one to play really lame and easy chords on an acoustic guitar, and one to write and sing shitty whining lyrics.

And Thursday definetly is Emo. Harder Emo, but still basically the emoest emo to ever emo. And they suck a whole bunch. I hope they die. They whine, sing about how much society sucks, and how much their lives suck, and how they want to kill themselves. Also, they're rich white suburban kids. That makes them very emo. I hope they do kill themselves.

Posted by whiskers on Jan-09-2004 05:54:

i am so glad i didn't completely know what/who emo kids were until 2 months ago.

don't want to know anything more.

I like brand new.

Posted by Mystre on Jan-09-2004 12:28:

The new blink alblum is emoish pretty cool too, Not nearly as good as trance but its good for a change in music

Posted by A.J. on Jan-09-2004 13:28:

Monkey Dancer 2

Damn, you people are so 1337...ooh, look at me, i'm so cool and hardcore cos i bash other types of music that i don't like.

Why do you feel the need to pay out types of music other than trance, when you hate people doing the same thing to trance??

People should learn to respect other genres of music (you don't have to like it, or listen to it!)

Some good examples of EMO:

Bodyjar (Australian band, a couple of songs are on the Tony Hawk soundtrack)
Jimmy Eat World
Incubus (not sure if they are EMO, but they
are awesome)
Unwritten Law

I have seen all of them live, and they absolutely rock!!

Some Bad examples of EMO:
Good Charlotte
Blink 182
etc etc (see MTV for more examples)
