Hey Stips, Helen and i hada drin kwith him last year when he was out, it turns into just a chat rather than an interview, just take some sort of recording device and let it flow, he talks your ear off haha

Thumbs up

Does he watch asian-pop culture movies? i.e. anime, Japanese samurai, Hong Kong martial arts, etc...? If so, what are he's favourites and why?

What does he think of the baroque period and Bach himself and please state examples?

Does he play video games? If so, which consoles/games?

Does he have a nickname that he's close friends call him?

What is he's dream car [if he doesnt have it already] and which particular mods would he do to it [or have already done so]?

Has he met Ayumi Hamasaki, if so how did it go?

Has he ever heard Chinese pop music before, if so, any favourites?

Anything particular or unique about Sydney [besides the clubbing scene] that he will always remember?

Does he have any relatives living in Sydney, if so, is one of them named Walter?

What mobile phone and ringtone does he have?

Has he had contact with any of he's high school teachers since becoming what he is now, if so, what does he's teachers think of him.

Favourite books/novels?

What was the strangest dream he has ever had?

When did he feel it was necessary to start being better than tiesto?

id have to agree with waxology (from a readers point of view), id much prefer to read something which wasnt of the distinct QUESTION ANSWER QUESTION ANSWER style, something a lot more informal.

Posted by $tip$y on Jan-09-2004 06:53:

i think your right guys...maybe at the start i should say something like..."i know you must be sick of answering the same questions every day so we'll have an informal chat and the im sure questions will be answered along the way"

i think id prob be more comfortable in that scenario and will prob get more info out of him...

haha..did i mention im going to be drunk at the time that he calls as ill be at a mates bday at lotel in st kilda..lol..should be intersting

What can we expect out of the armada label this year? Any new talents which will take the trance scene by storm?

Any special plans for the 150th asot show?

Has he and ferry kissed and made up after their falling out?

Whats the next song that he will release?

Who does he have in mind to remix "from the heart"?

Is melb or syd better

hahaha

Good luck with it stips

hmmm.....ask him if we'll soon be seein him with a comb-over in an attempt to hide his ever-growing hair loss.....

Posted by Beemer on Jan-09-2004 10:21:

okay, seriously now..........ask him what he thinks of DJ Mag poll and just how seriously most djs in the industry do or don't take it....and whether or not getting to number 1 is sumthin he at all cares about.....and maybe what he thinks of tiesto bein at number 1?

(yeah yeah i know he'd give the standard "it doesn't matter so long as i'm doin what i love and makin my fans happy" answer.......but meh, can't think of anythin better....except maybe ask him who his own personal fave dj is)

oh, u can also ask him if he'd like to put 2 young aussie backpacker girls up for a couple nites when we're in holland??

It would be cool to ask him how he intends to structure these longer sets he is going to be playing on this tour as well as how he recovers in between.

ask him:
what is your favorite mcdonalds thickshake flavour?

Say this:

In today's troubled times, I feel it important that we not only gain an insight into your opinion and trance and music in general, but on the more pressing issues facing the world today. In light of recent events worldwide, I have to ask...which is better, things or stuff?

Absolute gold
I think that would put a smile on Armin's face if you asked him that heh

(then again.. he's always smiling)

Ive got one.

Armin is it true that you are putting in to practice your recently completed law degree by defending Michael Jackson in return he has given you remix rights to his entire catalogue?

Ask him when he's doing another Essential Mix.

Ask him where he's going to be doing ASOT while he's in Australia, and can we come and be a live studio audience (like ASOT 100).

Ask him where trance will be in 10 years time.

Ask him about another album or mix compilation.

Ask him when ID&T will be setting up in Australia

Ask him why so many trance DJs are from Holland when it's such a small country.

Ask him if he prefers big festivals or small club gigs.

Ask him about the most memorable moment he's had at a club when he wasn't DJing (or the main focus of the night).

Ask him if he goes to clubs/festivals when he isn't getting paid to, and how much he enjoys it.

Ask him about how he deals with not being able to live a normal life without being recognised.

Ask him about how it feels to answer the same questions constantly

Ask him about the directions that music evolution takes - who is behind the changes and why? As in, is it the producers who make the music, the DJs who decide to play it or not, or the punters who decide to dance to it or not.

Ask him what the strangest tune request he's ever had was, and if he played it.

Ask him about when he sees people like us holding up signs requesting classic Armin tunes like Sunspot or Communication, how often does he ignore the request, or play the track, or play the track because he was already going to.

Ask him how he copes with being in different countries all the time (eg at the moment it's 30 degrees in Aust, but the middle of winter in Holland).

I think that's enough for now
