freaky dreams

i keep having this re accuring dream it actually freaks me out.
its in my old home where me mum and dad split up,
in my dream there are 5 of us 2 my best friends and 2 with blurred or blackout faces.
we all have parashutes and we are all running and jumping to get the wind to glide us up, but i am the only one that cant seem to be able to lift off. Sometimes i look back and see holes in my parashute and at that point i wake up.
last night i had this dream again i havent had it for 2 years, but one of the blurred faces turned into my b/f's sister who i havent met yet.

i dont understand this dream and cant seem to get rid of it.
does anyone else have re acurring dreams or just a dream that really freaked you out.

Dreams are supposedly just the neurons (?) in your mind being randomly stimulated during the deep stages of sleep to be repaired.

Or, if you buy into Freudian Theory, they have something to do with your subconcious (sp?).

I've presented the two common conflicting viewpoints, you be the judge. Yes, I too, sometimes have fucked up dreams and occassionally they are recurring.

well i do dream, but however i cant remember something, just in some moments i few days later, i realize: dude u were already in exactly this situation, at this place, in this time. that makes me think a little...

Well during REM there is a lot of random neurons firing, so that effects dream content. But also recent events can effect it. One guy would go to sleep thirstythinking about it and dream about a drink of water.

SO sometimes content of dreams can be triggered by thing you see that day, or things you remember. But since it is mainly random firing, the content gets all wierd.

all my dreams are too pleasant and I forget pretty much all of them by the afternoon.

It's called Dj vu. It happens to me sometimes, but I dont think that I dream the situations. It just seems like when they happen, its already happened before sometime, in exactly the same way. Freaky.

I am pretty sure I've made this point before, but have you ever considered that deja vu may be fates way of letting us know that we aren't really in control?

You've been watching Matrix too much.

I always have the dream where I'm falling. Usually off a cliff. And another recurring dream I have is getting boxed in by these huge rocks. It's really strange, impossible to describe the physical feeling I have.

dreams are real. they just happen in another parrelel plane. we just slip into that plane and catch gimpses of our 'other selves'

I think deja vu occurs when you look at something that you've already seen before, from the same angle and at the same time of the day. This happens to me very often but i realized that it has never happened to me in a place to which i've never been before. Freaky indeed...

Maybe that explains my animosity towards my alarm clock...
