dates on live sets???

i was wondering how the date on a live set works...
lets say the set was 08/12/03...
is that augest 12 or december 8...
i know from school that it goes day/month/year but canada has differant rules for things and some sets just dont make sense...
sorry if this question is annoying but i am a big collector and want to have every thing catogorized correctly... thanx in advance

it should be day-month-year, not month-day-year

anyway on to topic: i fucking hate the dating on live sets.. a good idea is to search around the web checking both combinations (if it says 4/8, then check april 8 and aug 4...) when you figure it out, change the file name so it says in WORDS and not numbers.

well ya i get alot of em off the tracklist forum... but if you had any where as close to as many sets as i have it prove to be a big big task...

You're all wrong.

Do it like this: (year-month-day)

ie: today is (2004-01-10)

The order is perfectly intuitive and you have the advantage of having the sets organize themselves chronologically when you sort by name.

i used to do month-day-year, but other people do it differently so it gets all confusing.

i would now do it: jan-01-2003 Theres no confusion with the date now.


I guess depending on where you work, they want you to do it a specific way.

It tends to take a bit of guess work.
If it is a recent set you will be able to tell.
Take into account where it was recorded or broadcast. Europe does DD-MM-YYYY and USA does MM-DD-YYYY
I've been seeing a lot of 10-JAN-2004 lately, but I prefer 2004-01-10.

I'm a stupid American, but I title my stuff Day/Month/Year like the rest of the world. It's just easier, less confusion in the long run.

american way is a bit backwards. unless you're writing it jan-24th-2002 then its silly. should be day month year and at second best year month day.

When you're telling someone your birthday, or applying for anything, how do you say it?

JANUARY 18TH, 1986 (My B-Day for example), and you know you all say the same.
