Intellectuals only please.
If you were a centaur would you swing your arms when you walked? Thatd make you kind of a peppy centaur. Or would your arms just hang there, dangling?
Personally I think I would clasp my wrists behind my back, but I dont know what I would do if I had to run. Would swinging your arms help?
Definatley swing your arms. Like a girl if possible. I think you'd look like a spanner trying to run without swinging your arms.

but how fast would you move them? Normally its in tune with each step. But youd be like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber running in the van kind of look. I just dont know. Although itd be kind of tight to barely be moving your arms and be hauling ass
Haha, yeah. I guess i'm just not smart enough to answer these mysteries of life.

We need Diginut
I would do handstands and walk around on my hands, just to baffle people further
well since all the momentum and muscle use is in the four legged part...you could do what you wanted with your arms...In my case...I'd be carrying some kick ass weapon and laying the smack down throughout the countryside...but that's my opinion.

what if it was a track race though?

a centaur is half human half horse. with the human part being waist up where the neck of the horse is.

Sorry about the schlong.
dude, you wouldn't be able to swing your arms. it would be awkward because it'd be like swinging your arms when you're riding on a buggy.
i think horsies are balanced too well to swing their arms. *ponders*
if you're holding a war hammer with both hands, you wouldn't need to swing them.

True. I also think that a 90 degree elbow angle with rigidly locked arms would work. The muscle tension would help force more power into the lower body

I don't think you would, because isn't swinging your arms while walking your body naturally compensating for the missing tail? As far as I know, we didn't start out naturally bipedal and a centaur has 4 legs so it doesn't have to compensate to balance.
Thatd be hard. Dual scimitars or the aforementioned warhammer. Shield and spear? I would wear false legs in battle so the enemy wouldnt know where to strike. I think I would end up with a dual weapon set of some sort though.
Sadly enough the dick would be out of reach!
The superman, gets my vote!
If I was just taking a nice stroll down the street, I'd have my arms crossed to look mean
But if I had to run, I think bent but against my sides... and I think others put too much thought into this

| Originally posted by DigiNut I'd have to go with no swinging, in the style of Racquel Welsh, followed by getting fired from a movie crew and beating up a girl on the street for pointing out my swingless walking. Failing that, I think I might go for an "air-swimming" style - swinging them in circles like the breast stroke. |
best thread ever
i'd vote for the superman tho
