Ferry Corsten - Punk (Penna Remix)

Well someone else found this on the net somewhere and posted about it in the new releases section...but might as well post it in this area with a download link...since it is an Amateur Production really!

Anyway.. here's the link: http://penna.artists.mpfspromotions...na%20Remix).mp3

Hope you enjoy! It's basically taking Punk and building a big trance riff out of it, something a bit different from the other remixes out there (which was why I made this).

Cheers

Penna

Remember when you posted this on PR.com, tis a well good effort, have played to a few mates and they were all impressed. The best remixes are usually the ones which take a track to a very different angle and you certainly do that here. And the production is first class. How are you're own tracks coming along, anything new nearing completion?

yeah read about this on the new releases section...will have to check it out..

this song kicks ass!
great job

yeah, great remix as i already said. A nice change compared to the original, this remix is a pure epic uplifting trance tune.
Quality stuff.

Well, I can't really say I like this at all.

Basically you took everything that made Punk good and threw them in the bin, then replaced them with bog-standard trance synths which was the exact thing Punk was against in the first place.

It has the Punk melody but I do not consider this Punk.

Posted by teo on Jan-14-2004 10:12:

its for sure different than the other remixes of punk i have heard but not different from other remixes in general...personally didnt like this "punk" much..

Posted by Nemesis44 on Jan-14-2004 10:23:

Nice production although I have to say that I am with some of the other posters in that this isn't punk for me. But that is purely a taste thing and has nothing to do with your production skills as they seem to be solid.

Good work!

I agree.

Cool

it's reasonable, but the use of the basic v-station preset just spoils it for me

Posted by penna on Jan-14-2004 14:54:

Thanks for all listening / commenting. Even if it's not to your taste or whatever, I really appreciate you all giving it a listen and saying what you think

I must say it's a very valid point about the v-station presets...this was the first tune I made after I got it and I went a bit mad with them I look back on it now and think the same thing

Posted by BelgianGuru on Jan-14-2004 14:58:

Nice kick

I don't know the original song apparently lol, so I don't know what you took from where, but it's cool. I like the synths too.

Posted by samhouse on Jan-14-2004 22:21:

i like it
a very different twist on one of my favourite tracks ever produced

Posted by Syeker on Jan-14-2004 22:52:

Don't know what everyone's talking about i liked this remix. Nice twist.

Posted by Sebraa on Jan-15-2004 09:18:

The beat is what I like most, in the beginning and then quality starts decrease , don't like the synth intro part but after that it's good! Nice remix but have you thought that maybe new running trance style bassline makes it way better?

Just my thoughts!
Keep it up!

Spot on!
Whilst it feels great getting praise from other producers the real test for any track is if a club crowd responded well to it. Sometimes it's more about a vibe that's been captured than actual producing quality at least in my opinion (I'm also bound to say that as my production skills aren't as good as some people here )

software, as he uses novation v-station for the synths

Production wise this is very strong; really nice beat and bassline. The hook is pretty good, as are the background pads.

This is quality dude; perhaps a little on the "generic trance" side of things, but it's excellently produced and as you put it, different than any other remix of it that I've heard. Have you sent this to Ferry? I think he'll like this.

Posted by AZCA on Jan-16-2004 11:23:

quite good, but a bit too repetitive

Posted by EliPsE on Jan-16-2004 13:30:

i really liked it. Yea agree it gets a lil repetitive. I really hate the original song soo cheesey to me
