What A Fucking Techno Man!

errrr hi

I heard the recent Percy X single off Soma and I must say that this man aka Tony Scott is a legend. You need to find his shit and hear it because it is nasty bangin techno, which I happily like . So check out Percy X's releases, if you can find them because they own.

The one percy X release I have is anything but bangin. I would dare call it trance.

which one, the pos one that he released a while ago that totally sucked ass and he should have been shot for. Nah, most of his stuff is bangin techno not trance...cept that pos release that escapes my vast memory bank.

On a day.

That was the 2002 release on SOMA, if I remember correctly, it was SOMA 126. Had the one day original with a trancy feel but the remix of the other was more bangin. Funk D'Void's latest is more trancy and both used to make just bangin techno. I may have to just stick with the birmingham techno massive (peter sutton, surgeon and company). Always nice to chat techno with a lady who knows her shit.

I was thinking of his 1995 SOMA 026 called odyssey of the banger...it's not new but it rocks. I like his stuff tho.

his latest is more electro (more up the alley of dj godfather)

SOMA 140,

Lady Killer with Mark Broom

Are you referring to Diabla? Two track release on Soma...

Do you have a link to Lady Killer, maybe a record store sample? It's on a couple top 10's out there and I can't ID it in my head or find it online.

well you have my msn....msn me damnit...i'll see what I can find for you....in terms of links

I thought www.somarecords.com had a link to it. The recent techno stuff of late is just too fucking weak...not banging....just this watered down CRAP!. I'm going back to the jeff mills and garnier set from 1999...that's how it should be played.

Posted by Skipper on Jan-14-2004 02:28:

There's a link on www.only-djs.com

Very downtempo for Mark Broom, but I like it! I love the funkier side of techno...even when most wouldn't call it techno anymore.

Posted by torontotrance on Jan-14-2004 02:30:

depends on what you like, I do enjoy funky ass techno and funky ass house but too many deejays have gone too funky and electro on the world, with the except of dj godfather...who can make any ghetto tech song in the world that I would love. I like brutal ear bashing TECHNO!, not the weak shit everyone seems to love. I like my techno hard!!!!!!

Get ready then, because the Jeff Mills rumors have started again...not in Toronto though, but in Montreal at Aria.

Posted by torontotrance on Jan-14-2004 02:43:

THE POMPOUS SOB!!!!!!!!!!

fuck the rumors...even the dates that he books are never 100% because remember he is a detroit techno dj that has big expectations. I sure hope I find full time employment before then....cuz I'd go to see him, if he played aria at some pt in april or may or june. I never hold my breath cuz the sob cancels shows for no reason...if you believe what you read. Always nice to talk techno with someone who knows....maybe more in the future....

And, they're expensive DJs. The techno booking companies are small. I'm sure it's largely a money issue, because if guys like Saunderson, May, Mills, and Sims were booked, all of the Toronto techno snobs would be there in a sec.

I'm pretty sure I'll make the trip for Mills, but I do want to hear Sims, perhaps more than Mills. So we'll see how close they are together.

i would LOOOOVE to go to both

and by that time all the snow will be gone.. weather will get better.. itll be an interesting road trip!
