weird, i checked PVD's site & groovetickets on the same day like 3 days ago and neither of them mentioned anything about him being in the states. well if this is true, i'll be there for sure.

It's on PVD's site and on Groove Tickets!!! I just checked!

Yep, PvD's site updated overnight with it.

If he's not here in SF (possibility, ya never know!), I'll probably head down there and then stay a couple extra days with my girlfriend.

Well..... It looks like they are $40. Anyone know of a promo code for a deal?

Posted by dollaroff on Jan-14-2004 20:09:

$40 for 2 hours seems kind-of steep, don't we think?

$40 for 2 hours? WTF? LAME! I'm definitely not driving down from SF for two piddly hours...

Posted by Miss Julia on Jan-14-2004 21:34:

Sad

My manager hasn't been giving us hours at work because it's been really slow after the holidays. We've been getting like maybe 7-8 hours/week... and thats IF we are lucky. So i dunno if i can afford to go to this event.

Well, gotta hope that he has a great time and plays longer because he's enjoying it....

...he does do that every once in awhile, although the dude seemingly only cares about the money these days....his precious $30,000

I agree, not worth it. We'll just wait till WMC $35 for Ultra and you get A LOT more!!

Maybe it's just me... but I just don't understand this "waiting" thing. When someone like PVD is in town it just seems sacrilegious to not go......

Posted by maribel1210 on Jan-15-2004 18:21:

Well...don't get me wrong, he is one of the best, but I guess he's not one of our top favorite. As for me I've seen him a few times this year, so I can wait till WMC. If it was someone that hasn't been around in a while I probably would pay the $40, but not for 2 hrs right now.

I have been told the $40 fee to get in is tax deductable as this "Rock the Vote" event is a benefit event.

Yeah, I can see this from both points. I don't go to these events that often, so I'm getting a group together to see him. However, I did see him at the Mayan a few months ago, and it was only $30 for a three hour set, just for comparison.

Then again, I thought Jerry Bonham's set was pretty decent, so I'm not looking at this as $40 for two hours, but at least $40 for 4 hours, as I haven't heard the other DJ before.

Any thoughts on Aude's skills? And how is this club, anyways? Thanks for any info :-)

He played for almost 3 hours, but was scheduled for two at the Mayan - 1am - 3am. He came on early and played a little after his scheduled time. He was having fun that night. He got my attention (I didn't notice it -- some peeps behind me had to tell me he was) as I was taking pictures...he wanted me to take a picture him and did a pose and everything...would have come out great, if it weren't for the fat green light streak across his face.

I had a blast. And better yet, I got in for free

Dave

Cool

I'll be there. I know 40 bucks is a lotta money but I've never heard PVD before so I'm anxious to hear him live for the first time.

Posted by integlspwr on Jan-19-2004 10:29:

um, if i knew this earlier in the month, I woudl have probally flown up with my friend, but i hear this 2 weeks before, thats a negative.

I missed PVD again on the west coast. I wonder when is he spinning again in Cali?

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.
