Clay Hotel group rate / room locations: IMPT UPDATE!!

Since so many people are staying at the Clay, should we try to get a group rate? Or, at the very least, a block of rooms on or about the same floor so we are near each other? And to help anyone who is doing the sharing thing? I know some of you have the shared bathroom option.

Has anyone tried this? I spoke with them and they were cool about putting me and Arty next to each other. Do you guys want to stay on the same floor? Or does no one give a f**K?

Just thought I would ask..

edit: I just spoke to Reservations and they said they would def put is together. I didn't get very far with the group rate ...but i will need a manager for that.

Anyhow, if you guys want to do this, I need your reservation numbers.

So there is:

Sunshine & ShellSh0ck (private, 2 twin beds))
Amdmaxx & friend (private, 1 double bed)


Tek & Babytek (shared)

KlingKlang & EnigmaT (shared)

^^^^ All of you with shared rooms will be next to each other, but at this point we can't be on the same floor since they are diff types of rooms.

Hey... I just found out that the Groovanauts reserved whole floor there. like 25 people from that message board. So it sounds like this will be party hotel. I will see about that whole discount thing. Regardless..it will be FUN.

Other friends are staying at the Tropic and the Leslie.

I canNOT believe how many people are going. I must know nearly a hundred if not more. i am so excited i can't think!

I'm planning on spending my spring break with a few friends at the WMC, and I've been looking into the Clay hotel since it looks nice, has low prices, and seems like there will be lots of friendly TA's there.

However, I'm pretty concerned though about how far away it is from the Wyndham resort that the actual conference is taking place at. Mapquest says the clay hotel is like 22 miles away for the Wyndham.

I don't really want to have to take a long taxi ride everyday just to get to the conference, but is that what you guys are planning on? Or do some of you already have cars that you're bringing to Miami? Or maybe I've got all this distance stuff wrong. Could somebody shed some light on what the general daily travel plan is? Thanks a ton!

clay = 15th and Washington (3rd ave)...
Its right on bus line to space (10 minute bus ride) and its right there where all the lcubs in SoBe..
Beach is on 1st ave...
My Mexican sushi place is on Ocean Ave anbd 15th..

yeah, i think so too. I think Tina and Charlie and Katie are all staying in the hostel. I will find out for sure soon.

You guys make sure you give me yoru reservation number. Last night they said the shared rooms will prob. have to be on a diff floor than they private ones but i will call today to speak to daytime mgr and make sure.
