dude, that was classic, that goes down in the annals of electronic music as the best scratch attempt failure ever and should be taught in noob school!!!

HOW NOT TO MIX ACCORDING TO DJ JEAN

HOW TO FUCK UP A DECENT SONG WITH SHITTY FX and SCRATCHING!

HOW TO GO DOWN IN THE HISTORY OF STUPIDITY AS A DEEJAY FOR ONE MOMENT!

either titles go well

If memory serves me right it was during his Trance Energy 2002 set. I had forgotten all about that. Absolutely hilarious. It was especially brutal when he cut the song out and was just scratching. Oh my god the horror.

Dude, WTF? Oakenfold is only human.. No DJ is on all the time, give em a break. He prob fuks up less than you, and a lot less than me.

if he was, he'd mix a whole lot better.

Posted by nrjizer on Jan-18-2004 06:06:

I saw him once at Ultra... wasn't a bad set, but I was mostly focused on flirting with the girl in a short short skirt standing on top of the little wooden bench in front of me

His set as pimp for 3 reasons: Zero - Emit, that track after it, and the breaks mix of the prophet. The rest were ok.

Posted by ABTsportsline on Jan-18-2004 06:19:

yawn. oakey-bashing is so passe. the guy's had more good sets than you have had days of life. as far as i'm concerned he can make mistakes. he's earned it.

anyone gonna tell us where we can hear dj jeans legendry scratching then?

Posted by skytrancegirl on Jan-18-2004 15:51:

Smiley DJ

tru ...some of the mixing in this set isn't that great, but i stil love him, he throws in some really good tracks, and everytime i seen him live it was amazing. one thing i love oakie for is his variety in his sets.

Posted by torontotrance on Jan-18-2004 18:26:

Oakenfold is crap now but I'll say what I've said for years, he is one of the reasons that I got into trance and his form from 1998-2000 was legendary and it was the great one. So he could do film scores, release crap albums, do more remixes of bullet in the gun and I'd probably ignore it because of his 1998-2000, his contribution to electronic music history is firmly in place.
