Review: Ultra Spin 4
All I have to say is that I love Gabriel and Dresden. They dropped one of the best trance sets that I've heard in a long time. I got there around 12:45 with Drgoodvibe, tha_broad, my buddy brendan, and my roomate Mike. Both Mike and Brendan are not really into trance but they absolutely loved G + D's set. Then on came infected mushroom. I have to say that although there stuff was fun, I dont like these guys at all and I kept wishing they would come off sooner. Due to the numerous falls snowboarding on Saturday, my knees were all swollen and as a result I had trouble standing near the end of their set. I wanted to wait for Rank1 but I just couldn't do it. So I left with Mike and Brendan and as I write, this I missing Rank 1. However, while waiting to get out coats we were able to hear them open with what other than Airwave. Oh well, maybe next time. I had a great time, just really tired. Good to see everybody, I'm not even going to try and name anybody as they were everywhere. At one point in the night, Em asked if I wanted to meet any new TA's and I said that I just couldn't do it. It was a bit overwhelming. So I hope everybody had a great time and I'll see you again soon.

WOW WOW WOW...anyone that missed this...omg...best KH night since PVD!!! I didn't even check out Guv at all, despite liking Anne Savage...the music was sooo good in KH. Very cool crowd...everyone was having a good time 
G&D were *incredible*...myself and a friend were standing in coat check when they dropped this old track I always play as I'm getting ready to go out...don't know the name...the last track on their Essential Mix..."people get ready"...they dropped it right before As the Rush Comes. Sooooo good. Great set...although for the last 40 min. or so, it seemed that only one of them was there...WTF? They played a lot of their remixes...the Duncan Sheik track was fun...and a harder version of Beautiful Things.
Infected, who I've never seen before, blew me away...I'm so glad I came out for this event...fuck, that was some seriously good trance!! Unfortunately had to leave just before 5am.
My first "sober" night at KH in a long time...I need to do that more often...not being wrecked = being able to actually dance

^^^ that's the one. what a great night...the minor annoyance of having to pay full price at 12:30 in the guestlist line, when it should have still been $15, was quickly forgotten

What was the last song G&D played???? It had male vocals, and they kept using the sample. Over all a wicked night. Great tunes ALL NIGHT!

It was awesome guys, i still cant stop bangin my head after tonight. It was awesome meeting all the TA's theres too many to list cause i never met most of you before. Thank you for showing me an amazing time and I hope to see u guys more often!

There's a song that G&D played, and I know it, I have it on a cd somewhere, but I can't remember the name of it. It's that tune with all the deep distorted bass (thet's the best way I can describe it). Can someone PLEASE help me? It's stuck in my head & I MUST listen to it right now!

All I have to say right now is that was the best trance party I have been to in Toronto in at least 3 years!
I thought Dumonde rocked the joint at Viva, but this massacred it. I rank that up as my 2nd or 3rd fav party ever. Rank 1 - Musically perfect. Amazing epic trance the whole time - NO CHEESE what so ever. Thats exactly how i like it.
Everything from the Lighting (of course) to the vibe was amazing. The entire KH was trance heads. The people were so wicked, and so different than the usual Guv nights.
Ahhh - perfect stadium trance in the perfect venue...
G&D didn't really do my thing. But their music is quality for sure!
Infected Mushroom - very nice, and hardish, and very different. I didn't know what to expect from them, but I enjoyed.
But Rank 1 definately took the whole show to another level. Thank God for that!!! (and Guv) just what My girlfriend (sugarrush) and I needed. SO glad we had a party like that together again!
It was also amazing to chill with sooo many people that I havn't seen in about 2-3 years, and see them come out and enjoy it all over agian.
From what I understand that was Piet Bervoets or Rank 1 that played
why is that Benno De Goeij was away?These two guys along with L-VEE are my all time fav trance artists!

Ultra Spin 4, wow what a night, got there at midnight, prefect timing for G&D so quality, especially surpised by that hard mix of beautiful things. They definatley preformed beyond my expectations, i thought i would be put to sleep by them but no way.
Infected, not really my thing but they had me dancing for a while, but headed over to Anne Savage and she was ripping it up.
Headed back for Rank 1, Airwave, right on time Set was good, trackselection was kinda boring i thought at times but nonetheless, a really good preformance and really good close out, too bad kool haus sound system kept failing on them.
Then just to cap off a beautiful night, Mark Oliver closes the night over in Guvy just beautifully encores too. ATB - Your not alone mmmmmmmm... candy for my ears at 7:30am
Good lights and set up in kool haus but the sound was a little quiet (they were definatley having some technical difficulties) And is anyone else with me when i say; "Get some fucking lazers for the kool haus!!!!!!!!" Infected would have been that much better with lazers.

Alright, first of all, I have to say that I didnt make it for the meetup, unfortunately, because I got to Toronto at 9:49PM and we BARELY found the Guv. Alright, now about the party. WOW, it was AWESOME! I'd rank it my third best party I've ever went to, behind Christmas Bash 2003 @ Viva (#2) and Edgar V @ Viva 08-2003 (#1). I've met and talked to sooooooo many TAs, I cant possibly list them all, nor do I remember everyone at the moment (SLEEPY ......ZZZZZZZZ), so sorry if I ommitted anyone: Skeletor, Hami, Tanya, Durafei, Swamper +1, Itikia +gf, two Asian guys who I met at Viva on Christmas Bash 03, Diginut, Loconet, Tatgirl, Psyrage ... and about 20 more TAs ... TAs RULE!!!!
Now as for the music ... The DJ who warmed up for G&D played some really really sleepy repetitive prog ... zzzz ... but when G&D came on, WOW ... I am not scoffing at them anymore! They played pretty much all of their remixes ... INCLUDING MY FAV OF THEIRS - NALIN&KANE - BEACHBALL!!!! Also, remixes and originals for both Andain songs, also Sarah McLachlan - Fallen ... overall they were great. However, by the time it was 1:20, I wanted them to go off ... zzz ... I cant believe they played Beaituful Things TWICE! Now thats not cool!
Infected Mushroom - WOW! Were awesome! Played lots of new psy and their stuff, didnt recognize a SINGLE track ... 
Rank 1 - cheese-free, some great stuff, but didnt blow me away. I expected more ...I left Kool Haus at 5:40PM.
Mark Oliver - great as usual, at times I came by the main room and chilled to some of his tunes ... I totally went crazay when he dropped Afterburn - Summer Sun 
Where was Anne Savage??? 
Oh, the orange room was all-night hip-hop, and they played at times some fine hip-hop when I went through, but mostly shite. Once they played Notorious B.I.G. - Hypnotize, and I actually stayed there for the duration of that song ... ONCE! Otherwise they played lots of crap there, and there were a few people there anyhow, hehe!
I really wanted lazers in the Kool Haus, but oh well ... I have to give the award to the DJ of the night to G&D, although IM was greatin that regard too, but I think G&D deserved it just a bit more ...
Alright, I am dead tired and sleepy, going to bed now, Talk later.

too bad it was only 1.5 hours..and rank 1 for the rest of the time
since many people got pumped up..and then more epic relaxing trance was on afterwards

Detroit Packs the club with a punch
Me, DJ Arecebo, Binary_eclipse, satters, and 9 other cats from Michigan. You could spot us by the big glowstick ravin, photon, 8 glowstick, firewall, crew in the front of the koolhaus for most of the show. The kid in the red pants photon/glowstick light show (me Dont_stop), or the firewallin on stage man (binary_eclipse 2 glowstick on each arm, with in each hand 2 glowstick totalling 8. Or whether it was the kid in a big hug circle or ravin out hardcore to every beat of all three acts. The night was sweetness, and us out of towners think the Guv/Koolhaus is the shit. Here is a lil taste of a tracklist. Somone in our group for around 80% of G and D and 90% of rank 1 and a couple guv tracks during the show and after koolhaus closed. For any trance addicts that we met and chilled with or others that just met us, come on down to michigan ann arbor the necto or detroit for some sweet djs, small venues but sweet shows, and us TA know how to party, like u do. Or the long drive to columbus or chicago for sweet venues (House of Blues, Chicago or teh factory or redzone) whewre tiesto and ferry and armin and judge and oakey sasha, pvd has done some sweet epic sets, who visted the midwest 4 times last year. anyway the tracklist, or what we can remember as we seemed to id most the songs but didnt write it down till we got back now.

My night at Ultra Spin 4 can be summed up in 2 words: FUCKING AWESOME. This was my first trance event that I attended, and im hella glad it was a night like this.
Music: I arrived at around 12:30 to enjoy most of G&D's set. absolutely awesome, i really enjoy thier style. As for Infected Mushroom - i rarely listen to psy/goa but these two Israelies turned the party upside down for me! I only stayed around until 4:30 AM for Rank1 b/c my friends wanted to go home... but I heard some great uplifting 'choons there.
People/Environment: I didn't goto the TA pre-meetup, but I DID manage to meetup with a few friends from my classes @ school, Steve (& his GF andrea) & Jeff (who spent some time helping me look for my friends around Guv. thx!). dEsidEL, props for recognizing me from my avatar during Rank1! Everone around koolhaus seemed very cool. i didnt really know any of the TAs by face (not yet, anyway)... but the TrancEaddict presence definitely felt very strong.. especially @ the front!! (i was the brown guy wearing white pants + a blue dress shirt, raising his water bottle constantly )
thx to my 2 friends (who dont use TA) who went with me that night, i appreciated it.
Wow...I mean....WOW....
First off, great to see all the TAs representin'; was definitely a great turnout by all! 
The premeetup was fun and was great to see G&D up close and personal.
Seeing them play was even better. I can't believe they played "Murder was the Bass" (One of my favs atm) 
and hearing Beachball is always amazing on a large sound system.
I don't know about anyone else but I think that's the best I've ever heard Kool Haus (in terms of sound)
Must digress and mention DeKoze as well. I'm liking him more everytime I hear him. I can't believe he used to be a top 40 DJ in Sask. lol!

Infected Mushroom; these guys blew me away this time.
It was a 4/4 murder on the floor. They must have set their sequencers to eeeevil as they just ripped your face off with a never ending slaughter of auditory beats.
I think I danced more to these guys then anyone else last night.
The last time I saw them (Labour of Love before Bad Boy Bill) I wasn't sure about them.
There's absolutely no doubt now; they move my legs!
Rank1; I was beginning to worry about how these guys would mix in after a hard Infected Mushroom blitz set. They took everything in stride and it didn't disjunct my night at all. They're exactly what we needed after a pounding; bliss.....ah...........
Unfortunately didn't stay for their whole set, but I did get to hear about 4-5 tOOns which were all awesome.
All in all I have to give this night a stamping of 9/10; coat check was great this time round; wasn't so busy that you couldn't really get around and the music was amazing from beginning to end.
I REALLY hope we'll be able to get our hands on the G&D set afterwards; it truly was a great set.

All I can say is WOW !
I went into this party having no expectations whatsoever, as I didn't know what kind of stuff would be played by either of the 3 main acts at Kool Haus. I thought it would be an ordinary party.. Boy, was I wrong !!!
I can't even say who stole the show as all three acts were absolutely mindblowing.
* G&D with their beautiful and sophisticad melodies(and a surprising hard ending to their set). I can't believe they played "Murder was the bass" right after "As the rush comes". That was like the biggest surprise of the night ! Mixing was off sometimes, but who cares when they play outstanding tunes like that..
* Infected Mushroom.. WOW ! Soo impressive. Never really heard that kind of music in a club before, and it was AMAZING! I can't wait for them to come back!
* Rank 1.. Well, what can be set about this set ? Pure uplifting trance at it's finest(When Piet Bervoets opened with Rank 1 - Airwave, I knew we were all in for a treat). I got into trance just because of that kind of music. Rank 1 proved once again that uplifting trance is my favourite style of music.
This was also the first time my girlfriend went out to a big party like this with me. That obviously added to the enjoyment, as she probably had even more fun than me! Crazy 
One of the few things missing was "hands in the air". Many people obviously didn't appreciate some of the awesome tunes that were played and too many people left when Rank 1 came on. Oh well. No party is perfect.
Still, this is probably one of the top 3 parties that I've ever been to !
PS. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the after party. It would've been fun. Unfortunately once we got into the car we decided that the safest thing to do would be to drive straight to Waterloo and so we did.
PPS. I've also heard Anne Savage for like 10 minutes - it was awesome as well. But then I decided to get back to Kool Haus for some Infected Mushroom action.
