Arrow Trance Nation America 2 - Mixed By ATB & George Acosta

The follow up to Jimmy Van M & Taylor's "Trance Nation America", will be Trance America Two which will be a double cd mixed by 2 dj's. George Acosta will mix 1 cd & other will be done by ATB. This will be George Acosta's first time mixing any Ministry of Sound cd's, and ATB's second. If you dont know ATB released "Ministry Of Sounds Clubbers Guide To Trance" in '99. The release date will be August 7, 2001. This will be George Acosta's follow up mix to his cd's released in March "RELEASE AM & PM" which hit #1 on Germany's charts. I cant wait to hear this cd, hopefully it will be amazing.. No tracklisting yet. Comments Please

MOS pulled the plug on ATB so why would they ask him to mix a compilation now???

What do you mean by this??

Posted by Paul Wilson on Aug-04-2001 10:12:

ATB was orignally signed to Ministry Of Sound in the UK. In 2000 MOS dropped him, so that's why I find it strange that he is mixing a MOS compilation after being dumped by them!

Posted by JayD on Aug-04-2001 16:04:

Well if anything, this Cd is going to be released on Ultra Records not the MOS label. So that might be why .

hmmmmmmm the ATB disc looks pretty sucky, I mean Airheadz - Stanley on a not yet released compilation?! How many years behind are these people. That is unless America are far far behind us.

The Acosta disc looks better, but even still, I think Trance Nation 2 is still the best Trance Nation compilation ever released.

Posted by Paul Wilson on Aug-08-2001 15:27:

The tracklisting of the ATB disc looks pathetic. With cheese like Ian Van Dahl "Castles In The Sky" and the God awful Airheads "Stanley" and overplayed tracks like Barthezz "On The Move" and Push "Strange World" I can only see this getting negative reviews.

Hmm.... This is already released, it was released as of yesterday.. The ATB cd is commercial for a reason, remember it IS "Trance Nation America". The way I look at it, the ATB cd is basically to pull americans into trance. And Paul usually the commerical cd's get the best reviews. Check out reviews on "Rays House" .

Well anywayz, I wouldnt be buying it for the ATB cd, I would be for the Acosta. Acosta is clearly the star of this complimation.

Well I saw the tracklisting of the original Trance Nation America and it was not commercial at all so that's why it came to me as such a shock when I noticed that the tracklisting looked so commercial. And I meant by "negative reviews" as reviews by TA's!

Posted by Paul Wilson on Aug-10-2001 10:30:

the George Acosta disc still has a lot of outdated and overplayed tracks, Dumonde "Never Look Back" being an example!

Right tell me exactly what is ignorant about what I said??? It's 100% true, none of these discs look good. I say plenty of positive things, it's when I state negative opinions you seem to take it personally.

Wink Trance Nation America vol.2

Well, I just bought Trance Nation America today, and I have to say after one listen it is a very good CD compilation, I buy almost all CD comps that come out (what can I say I'm an Addict

Anyway, I don't know where you got that tracklisting, cause that is not the tracklisting for Trance Nation America vol.2

CD1 is mixed by ATB, and it is pretty good as far as track selection is concerned, it IS cheeze (whatever that means, but I have a good idea) but it's good cheeze, I mean that it keeps the rhythm up and stays pumpin' throughout... CD2 is mixed by George Acosta, I've heard him live and I already know he is amazing, and this CD just proves that even more, he really knows how to move a floor and a CD... just keeps it pumpin' and more importantly, trancin' throughout, where ATB kinda gets caught playing the same thing over and over, Acosta actually plays a good spread of "trance" :-) anyhow, I would recommend this CD to any trancehead out there like myself, as both CD's are very worthy... CD2 definitly outshines CD1 though

Here is the REAL tracklist for Trance Nation America vol. 2

CD1 - ATB

01. ATB - Let U Go (Clubb Mix)
02. Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)
03. Delerium - Innocente (Mr Sam The Space Between Us Mix)
04. DJ Taucher - Pictures Of A Gallery (Kay Cee Remix)
05. Coast 2 Coast - Home (Original Mix)
06. Smike Van Art & AJ Sonic - Medusa (Fridge Remix)
07. Safri Duo - Played-A-Live (Original Mix)
08. Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky (Extended Mix)
09. Barthezz - On The Move (Dumonde Mix)
10. Nino Lopez Project - Experience (ATB Remix)
11. Mauro Picotto - Like This Like That (Album Mix)
12. Plummet - Damaged
13. M.O.R.P.H. - Maximum Overdrive (Extended Mix)
14. Santa Cruz - Imagine (DJ Jan & Christopher Chantiz Remix)

CD2 - George Acosta

01. Members Of Mayday - 10 In 01 (Paul Van Dyk Mix)
02. Lexos - The Key
03. Steve Morley - Sacred City (Shane Remix)
04. System F & Armin Van Buuren - Exhale
05. Slusnik Luna - Sun
06. Free Radical - Surreal
07. Maria Rubia - Say It (Rob Searle Main Mix)
08. Dumonde - Never Look Back (Original Mix)
09. Derb - Derbus
10. Yakooza - Stronger (DJ Wag Mix)
11. George Acosta presents MAG - Taking Over Space (George Acosta Mix)
12. DJ Snowman - Skydiver (Pulsedriver Remix)
13. Angel Of Death - Angel Of Death (Tracid Mix)
14. DJ Scot Project - O (Overdrive) (Arome Remix)

Like I said, great CD comp really... much better than Trance Nation America vol. 1 and WAY better than Trance Nation 2001 (what was Ferry Corsten thinking!!!!) anyway... the top 5 tracks on this comp are... (in no particular order)

1. Barthezz - On The Move (Dumonde Remix)
2. Slusnik Luna - Sun
3. Dumonde - Never Looke Back (Original Mix)
4. Free Radical - Surreal
5. Plummet - Damaged

LoL, look up... I got the tracklisting before it was released so thats why it was offs.. Well anywayz, I fixed it when I got the cd in. Havent been able to take a listen yet but as soon as I do I will definitly post my opinions on it.

Great review, thanks

Posted by patticus on Aug-14-2001 20:42:

uh why is it called trance nation america?
atb isnt american, and its not like its "north american" trance being spun.
weird. or is it just trance that MOS thinks americans will like
which is to say CHEESY FORMULAIC REPETITIVE COMMERCIALNESS

dont flame me, that's in response to the other forums

but im serious.

maybe MOS is just trying to flog a dead horse for money... decent trax but old, dont u think? esp atb's cd

What is Cheese Now A Days...

Hey, it seems like all of you guys classify chesse as being a great song that was overplayed on the radio.. I dont understand it really, ATB cd might be cheesy but to me it doesnt seem all that bad...

I respect your opinion but in no way do I agree with some of the things you say.. C'mon, Dj Scot Project -Overdrive being cheese? Now thats just ludacris, this song is classified by many as a classic. It hasnt been commercialized or anything.. And you also said that Maria Rubia - Say It (Rob Searle Main Remix) & Derb - Derbus are cheese...

This album hasnt gotten anything but good reviews, so my suggestion is to listen to it then comment.

Posted by patticus on Aug-14-2001 22:48:

jayd, did you even READ my post in the other thread?

i said i was mistaken callign overdrive cheese
i just dislike all that hard trance.

but cmon.. maria rubia... that's a horrible track, its as commercial as toca me but not as good musicality...
derb is a piece of junk

you obviously read my other post, but you didnt reply as if you had read it

if i know the tracks, why listen? better mixing isnt going to make them that much better.

Posted by JayD on Aug-14-2001 23:56:

Yes, you're right... I remember when I posted that Lazy Jones track that every-1 liked you didnt like it either... You said that was the trance you didnt like, but just to say even "if" it was a mistake, you have to understand that it's like me calling a track you like "cheese".. Well anywayz, like I said, I dont agree with your opinion but I respect it .

Posted by patticus on Aug-15-2001 09:01:

yeah i get u jayd, but i'll admit liking cheese sometiems. like fragma occasionally.. even judge jules on OCCASION
etc

i dunno i guess you're right, its easy for me to dismiss hard trance but i'll try not to from now on
