* Bump*
I think that this is pretty good stuff! I like the natural sounding drums quite a bit. (btw, my first post)
nice track....i haven't heard the original so cannot really comment on the quality of the remix....love the "dirty" bassline.....very very professional mastering though......i really don't like the cheesy bit that starts at 6:30....(my opinion)...really like the breaks that come till then.....lemme see.....at 7:24, the kind of music i like really starts again....(btw i'm reviewing this while i'm listening to the track so don't mind if something harsh comes up here)....
overall, very very nice track...well done.....
first post!
i like the lead up 3:53 to 4:47, really got me into this track after that, start needs something more, but gj keep more songs coming!
rmx
I like this remix, awesome drun programming and top mixing.
Phat bass.
Nice bassline, first thing that stood out to me. Eq'ed nicely as well. Ahh sick you used congas! I love tribal elements.
Vocals seem to be carrying the track from around 1:40 to 2:15, which is not a good thing imo...makes the instrumentals seem too repetitive if the only real variation is in the vocals. Try moving the bassline up a half-octave to an octave once, should help out there.
Not really digging the synth that comes in at 2:54, it just reminds me of something/someone that's too needy. Just the feeling I get.
Piano needs more 'verb, doesn't really stand out...it's more of a background element.
Not really digging the section with the breakbeat either, that lead synth has gotten annoying by this point.
It's produced well though, and it's definitely unique, which are two of the three things I look for in tracks. Good job dude.
First I like to start that I like this song !! Ofcourse the origional was to my taste also, but this song is a nice remix.
BUT, you post here for building comments and I think I have a few for you..
Like Tranc3 also said, and I completely agree, that Synth that starts at 2:54 is a real drawback to your song. It sounds to 'cheap' and it won't stop for I don't know how long... What is under the Synth is great but the synth ruines it (to my opinion).
That little break beat did not disturb me. Its OK for me, nice switch and not too long.
At 5:15 a big relieve (ending of synth) and at 5:27 a big SUPRISE!! Now the song really starts... and how!! Great.
Shame not many have posted here because the song is good. (Also the vocal change in number of beats (hard to explain) is nicely done).
It's a 7.2 in the scale of 10 as it is now for me.
EDITED: By the way, keep us posted if you make changes..
Pretty nice stuff dude, I like it. Some comments:
-Bass and kick are really good. Percs are pretty good too, I like the bongoes and the percy fills.
-Vocal use could have been more creative IMO, I don't like the way it sounds at 2:05ish, you should save the end part of the vocal for later.
-Lead sound is pretty nice too, I like it.
-Bass pad is really needed in the breakdown, just sounds too thin without one in there IMO.
-Not really a big fan of the way it drops into the main riff/lead at 5:30ish, though the main lead is pretty sweet sounding.
Overall this is quite well produced and well done in general. I look forward to hearing more of your stuff.
First of all I'd like to mention that this is actually the first track of yours that I'm listening to since your tracking songs from the millennium shift or so.
In general this track is good enough to be listened to several times. It's one of the better "non-pro" Naked Angel-remixes that I've heard of. The bassline and the kick drives the track forward very well, nice and punchy feeling from the beginning to the end. The buildup is neither too short nor too long. It would be almost perfect if it wasn't for that synth coming in between minutes 2 and 3. One possible solution would be to replace it with a monotonous melody with the same sawsynth that plays the main melody part in the end.
Just like Tranc3 I absolutely adore congas and bongas. They really kept the interest up during the buildup part. Btw, I couldn't hear any ride cymbals coming in anywhere, did I just miss it or...? But overall, thumbs up!
