What Does Spyware In Programs Do?
I know there is spyware in lots of programs like audiogalaxy and shit.. What does it do?
yeah, they report you activity and so on
and oh, audiogalaxy doesn't force the spyware crap anymore (webenhancer or whatever it was called) with the installation, you can choose if you want it or not (ofcoz you choose no
)
asd
one thing you shouldnt do
i uninstalled the WebHancer proggy
and my internet connection got totally f****** up
i couldnt do shit
maybe this is only my computer, but if its a "standard" reaction, i recomend you just to leave it there
it doesnt do any harm on you anyways
only registrates which sites ur surfing on etc
and puts up some ads (pop-ups) here and there
thats my experience and knowledgde with this spy-ware
greetZ!
Huuuumm... In the AG i said yes
.. cause it said that it helps to track down the speeds in wich downloads are going and such, so they could do research and so on, to make the software better ! but it doesnt affect me in any way.

1. what computer configuration you have
2. what applications you have installed
3. what sites you visit on the web
4. what your Registry entries are (this is the worst one, they can get a shitload of information about you from that one! For example just think they can find the Cookies entry, go to that directory, find the Amazon.com shopping cookie saved after your last transaction, and transfer very sensitive info... and that's just one example!)
You never know what kinds of shit go on behind the scenes with progs like AudioGalaxy. That's why I didn't install it on my new comp, even though AudioGalaxy is pretty darn good.
When you install AudioGalaxy, they ask you if you want to install 2 other programs (webhancer & something else)... one of those two is the spyware..
When I installed AG I just selected "no" on these 2 programs. No problems.

I think there still may be some hidden data transfer going on, you just don't know about it. Better safe than sorry.
