Rave Bumpers

don't you hate them? you all know what they are...the people who walk around the dance floor aimlessly, only to cut infront of someone not too dance, but to just stand there. They drive me nuts. But the weird thing is, that when someone bumps into me, and then turns around and gives me a smile, or acknowledges that i'm there, all of my anger melts away!! Like, its impossible not to bump into people when you're at a rave, but i alway turn around and apologize, or smile, and the person ALWAYS smiles back. Its just plain polite. But when someone walks by me, bumps into me hard, and doesn;'t even look back, i get pissed. Is anyone else like this?

Posted by SKELETOR on Jan-19-2004 23:36:

yea i ALWAYS smile and appologize.. and if someone bumps into me i do the same.. just smile and nod my head

and in those cases when someone just bumps me hard and doenst smile... i just ignore them, whats the point of geting pissed.. im sure that he/she didnt purposely bump me hard and walk away to piss me off. maybe they really needed to go to the washroom or somethin

I was at Viva for a party (I think it was Talla) and this guy just comes out of NOWHERE and decides he wants to make the spot RIGHT in front of where I was dancing his own personal chill out spot. This is in the middle of the fucking dancefloor mind you. So I get MILDLY annoyed and think "Ok, you want to STAND and do NOTHING in the middle of the dancefloor????". Fine. So I then proceed to dance my ASS off like mad dancing circles around the guy talking to some TAs the entire time, eventually he gets the hint and goes somewhere else. I mean ffs...who does that???? lol

Posted by SKELETOR on Jan-20-2004 03:06:

what i really cant stand actually... is stupid snotty girls who get in my spot...

then they get bumped when im dancing and theyre just dancing and they give me the look.

THAT pisses me off.

either join me in dancing or dance on your own or get the fuck out of the way.

im happy to make some space for someone who wants to join a circle or whatever.. actually i encourage it, but i cant stand idiots who just wana get in the middle of the crowd to stand and watch the dj.

The only person that owns the dance floor is the club owner...

I dunno Jeff? Some goof with a black t shirt and black jeans, was wearing shades. Annoyed me to no end...

Posted by Rocco on Jan-20-2004 03:53:

mind u not.. there are many ppl that go to clubs and have no idea how to dance.

execuse me if i just stand there infront of u but i really dunno how to dance! there are many of us that can't dance.

kindly teach us how to dance and we will.

Posted by Endlesswave on Jan-20-2004 03:55:

Pierre come on. You think I can dance well? As long as it's not like Elaine from Seinfeld you have NOTHING to worry about. Just dance! There is no "right" way of doing it.

Heh, likewise. It made me think of rave-related bumper stickers...

Um....lift leg...and set back down...
Now repeat in symetrical fashion with opposing leg, preferably with the beat of the tOON being listened to.

Wave arms in air like Grover.
(Tongue waving is optional)

Hip sway in the opposite direction of arms...

\...\... <--- notice arms point thata way
.\_O_\..
...||...
...--... <--- hips point other way...er...that way --->
.././...
././....

be sure not to 'bump' anyone but if you should, do the kind Canadian thing and appologize...and make sure to appologize to his sister too whom you have not yet met...

Good? Good.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
That is so Canadian.
I actually think I may have done something similar to that in a club once.

Evil1

I just posted a thread about all those sweating people. It's titled Guv Saturday night. But about those people who bump into you like then don't get a damn. Bothers me to no end. I'm pretty small< 5'3. and when I get bumped chances are I'm flying across the room. I'll totally go up to that person and speak my mind or push them back. a little taste of their own medicine, but for the ones who just stand in front of you and are not dancing. I'll tap them on the shoulder and say: can you move over? They always do. I don't care, I'll speak my mind anywhere at anytime!

LOL...I hear ya...I can't dance worth *shit* and whatever ugliness I do manage on the dancefloor only happens after several drinks (or whatever). You know , although I'm still very self-conscious, I don't care nearly as much as I once did...mainly because I don't think anyone else cares either...at least no one that is a true "partier" will knock someone else's dancing abilities (or lack thereof). All that should matter is that the people around them are into the music and enjoying themselves (without infringing upon your enjoyment too).

I love watching people dance...and I also don't care when I see someone dancing like a complete retard either. It makes my night to see people smiling and having a good time. F the snobs who think otherwise!

That's the big diff between most party clubs and some cheese dance/gino/thug nights...NO ATTITUDE! people bump you, they smile and say sorry...makes all the difference in the world

Posted by Dr. Z on Jan-20-2004 19:52:

lol
So why go to a club if you're not gonna dance?

I mean... if you wanna listen to the music I'm sure there is a bigger variety and preference at home.
If you wanna drink, its much cheaper to go to the local LCBO and buy booze.
If you wanna pick up chicks... oh yea.. thats the one.

GINOS!
ewww

*runs*
