98/99. That's when I started getting into dance music, and there are so many classics from then.

98/99 easily. the tunes are just way too good and it never gets boring. i still listen to them. can't say the same about post-y2k tunes though.

1999 for sure !
examples: Xpander, Synaesthesia, Heaven scent, Neuro and fantastic releases by BT, it was truly a year of trance.

yeah im definatly gonna have to go with 98-99, the years of uplifting. i have been starting to notice just as mnany people have predicted the return of the uplifting dominance. this years music is getting wayyyy better than it was earlier in the year, with many more progressive tunes in the beginning of the year. long live uplifting!

HappyHappy

I hope uplifting trance is coming back soon, and coming back strong. I think many of the tracks made in 98 and 99 beats the crap out of most tracks being produced today. It's like you never go tired of the m. Ahh, Hyperstate 99 was really good too

Veracocha - Carte Blanche

1999 was easily the best year for trance.

Posted by Tranz on Aug-01-2001 22:27:

1998 was the year...

Posted by fastmp3 on Aug-01-2001 22:31:

1997/98 are the best years , why ? because :
2 Eivissa - Oh La La La
Schiller - Das Glockenspiel
Watergate - Heart of Asia
Dr. Motte & Westbam - One Wolrd One Future
Binary Finary - 1998

What else ?

Posted by Paul Wilson on Aug-01-2001 22:41:

FASTDJMP3,

Watergate "Heart Of Asia" is 1999 plus as far as I know "Das Glockenpiel" is 2001?

Posted by LiquidX on Aug-01-2001 22:55:

Yeah , definetly 1999, the Binary Finary - 1999, synaesthesia, Saltwater, electric boutique, system f, DJ tiesto, Chakra, I mean ... it was really dedicated to brining the best in trance, every trance track there was a HIT ! CREAM blank and jones !

Posted by icexman36 on Aug-01-2001 23:50:

i would say 98-99 because.....
matt darey was god and ferry corsten was the king of uplifting trance at that time...
gouryella formed and became the best trance group...

Posted by thesuperfunk on Aug-02-2001 01:08:

I'll go with the flow and say 98/99. Definately the years when trance kicked off big time in the UK

Posted by Rakoon on Aug-02-2001 04:21:

2001 because...

DJ Tiesto - My Memories (Solo album)
DJ Tiesto - Urban Train
Gouryella - Unknown
Solar Stone - Green Light
Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Re-released)

Just a few to name...

no no, Glockenspiel is at least 2 or 3 years old.

BTW, 1999 is the year

100& agree

1998, the year epic blew up.

Glockenspiel is that old, def not 2k1, I heard Sasha spin it in like 99, I believe.

Compared to the tracks of '98 and '99, tracks nowadays are just beating the same old bush, so it's not as great of a thing as it once was.

Ahh, those were the days.
